SOUTHOLD' T'OWNBO~RD
June 18, 1979
A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held on Monday,
June 18, 1979 at the Southold Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New
York. A "Waive of Notice of Town Board Meeting" was signed by
the Board members. Supervisor Martocchia opened the..mee~ing at
1:00 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia
Councilman William R. Pell III
Councilman Henry W. Drum
Justice Martin Suter
Town Clerk Judith T. Terry
Absent:
Councilman James Homan
Justice Francis T. Doyen
On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Drum, it was
RESOLVED that Morchel Hearing and Air Conditioning Znc. be and
hereby is authorized to be paid $10,080.00 in EDA funds for the
completion of certain work at the Southold Town Hall Addition.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent: Councilman Homan,
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
On motion of Councilman Pell, seconded by Justice .Suter, it was
RESOLVED that Strathmore Construction Corp. be and hereby is
authorized to be paid $19,498.82 in HUD funds for the completion
of certain work at the Senior Citizen- Youth Center.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Ccuncilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent: Councilman Homan,
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Pelt, it was
RESOLVED that Cavaliere Electric Contracting Ltd. be and hereby
is authorized to be paid $7,650.00 in HUD funds for the completion
of certain work at the Senior Citizen-Youth Center.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent: Councilman Homan,
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
On motion of Councilman Pell, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that resolution adopted~ by the southold Town Board on
June 12, 1979 authorizing the Supervisor to draw specifications
for furnishings for the Senior Citizen-Youth Center, and the Town
Clerk to go to bid, be amended to read: "authorized to draw
specifications for furnishings for the Senior-Citizen Youth Center,
Peconic or purchase from the State Contract.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Justice Surer, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent: Councilman Homan,
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
On motion of Councilman Drum, seconded by Councilman Pell, it was
RESOLVED that Theodore B. Howard, Greenport, be and ha hereby is
hired as a summer beach patrolman for the Town of Southold at $5.00
per hour effective June 23, 1979 and terminating September 9, 1979.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent: Councilman Homan,
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted~
Supervisor:_Martocchia advised that he has been in touch with the
Corps of Army Engineers ~questing a study of the sound shore area
in Southold concerning the connection between the erosion problem
and jetties.
Supervisor Martocchia advised the Board he has spoken with County
Attorney Irving Like relative to the brief on the LILCO Jamesport
nuclear plant. Mr. Like will prepare the major part of the brief
and would like Mrs. Jean Tiedke to prepare the portion on ground
water and erosion.
On motion of Councilman Pell, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that there being no further business to come before this
Town Board meeting adjournment be called at 1:30 P.M.
