HomeMy WebLinkAboutCallahan, J 5.2025 Zoning Update Good morning, Thank you for an informative overview of the proposed zoning changes last night at the Rec Center. Please allow me to restate an issue I may not have clearly articulated during the meeting: The present version of the draft code (S280-66, p129) does not provide exemption for a grandfathered business operation to rebuild in the event 50% of the structure is destroyed, and the owner wishes to continue to operate the same business. Additionally, as presently written, a grandfathered, newly-nonconforming business is limited to no more than a 15% expansion. While I applaud the intention of the code to not hurt, harm, or penalize an existing business, the language regarding pre-existing, and newly non-conforming businesses, operations, and buildings, requires attention to deliver on that stated intention.
