The A~nuat Fishers Island meeting of the Southold Town Board~was

School, Fishers Island, ~New York, with the following present:
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia
Ju.stice Martin Suter
Justice Louis M. Demarest
Justice Francis T. Doyen

Absent: Councilman James H. Rrich, Jr.
Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker
Supervisor Martocchia introduced' the visiting State, County and
Town officials and other guests attending the meeting 'from Long
Island. In all, about 76 persons were aboard the boat "Stifling."
Moved'by Justice Suteri seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED that the minutes of April 7, 1973 be and they hereby
are approved.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Heman, ~Justice Suter, Justice Demarest, Justice Doyen.
Moved by Councilman Homart, seconded by Justice Doyen, it was
RESOLVED that the next meeting of the'Southold Town Board will be
helld at~ 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 28, 1973 at the office of
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New
York~

Supervisor Martocchia opened the meeting for discussion of any
problems the Fishers Island~residents might have.
Mrs. Rafferty, President of the Fishers Island Civic Association,
In~.'~asked wha~ is the total ~amount of taxes collected~ by the Town of
Southold from Fishers Island. Supervisor Martocchia stated it is
about 9.9%.
Some of the other subjects discussed were':
Dredging and placing of fill frmm the Thames River.
Subsidies from County and State for the Fishers Island
Ferry District.
Another tennis court.
Amount of taxemoney collected for road improvements.
Requested additional l~ghts on Equestrian Avenue.
Southold Town boat requested for patroling Fishers
Island waters.
Former Constable A. John Gada from Fishers Island was presented
with a plaque from the Town of Southold in appreciation of his
service to the Town.
Former T~wn Justice E. Perry Edwards, Fishers Island, was presented
with a plaque from the Town of Southold in appreciation of his service
to the Town.
Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, former Sub-RegLstrar and Deputy Town Clerk,
Fishers Island, was presented with an engraved pin in appreciation
of her services to the Town of Southold.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that a recess be cal-led at '2:30 P.M. to reconvene at
5:00 P.M.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest, Justice Doyen.
Meeting reconvened at 5:00 P.M.
Supervisor Martocchia advised the Board that~he appointed Ch~ief .
Anthony Blados, Assistant ChiefL-Matthew ~rtin, and S~cond-Assis~ant
Chief Vincent Wieczorek of the Cutchogue~Fir,e-Department to~ac~ as
Fire Wardens for Robins ~sland, said appointments being made pursuant
to Section 29, Subdivision 12 ~of the Town Law, and Section 52, Sub-
division 3 of the Conservation Law.
On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homart, it was
RESOLVED that ~the following monie~s be~ trans-fer~ed as follows:
$8,205.00 from General Fund - Surplus
to: Codification - $1,505.00
Harbor Crafts - $500.00
Town Justices-Alii0.4 - $1,000
Independent Auditing.-A1320.4 - $200.00
Garbage and Refuse-AS160,4 - $5jO00.00
$1,400.00 from General Fund-Town outside Village
to: P.B.A. Life Insurance

On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Counc,ilman, Homan~ it ~a~s
RESOLVED that notification be sent to the Southold Town~.P~lann&~g
Board advising that Edward Gillis wishes to amend his ~han~e of
zone application from "A" Residential and AgricultUral to "B-,t"
General Business zone, rather than "C" Industrial as aske~d',~Dr ~
on the original application, a ndinstructing the Planning Board to
prepare an official report defining the conditions descri~ed~n the
petition and determine the area so affected with the recommenda~tion
of the Planning Board. ~

Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
A letter was received from A. W. Albertson Jr,. withdrawing his~%~.c~
application for a change of zone from "A" Residential and
~Agricultural District to "C" Light Industrial District on cer~n
'property at Arshamomaque., New York.
Meeting adjourned at 5:45 P.M.
