Mart6cchia, L6 South Street,- Greenport, New York, at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 7, 1973, with the following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia Councilman James H. Rich, Jr. Councilman James Homan JUstice Martin Suter Absent: Superintendent of Highways Raymond C. Dean Tow~ Clerk Albert W. Richmond Justice Louis M. Demarest Justice Francis T. Doyen Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of July 31, 1973 be and they hereby are approved. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at i:00 P.M., ThurSday, August 16, 1973 at Fishers Island School, Fishers Island, New York. Boat to leave Claudio's dock, Greenport, at 9:00 A.M. Vo~e of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the reports of the Supervisor, Building Inspector, and Town Clerk for the month of July 1973 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of the Town Board: Aye's: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justic Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS the developer of Cleaves Point Section III has requested that his subdivision known as Cleaves Point Section III be included in Article XVII, Section L702 of the Building Zone Ordinance, which ms the list of approved subdivisions, ~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the aforesaid request by the developer of Cleaves Point Section III be referred to the Southold Town Planning Board and Suffolk County Planning Commission. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Surer. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS the Southold Senior Citizens request the use of four (4) buses for transportation to Garrison, New York on October 17, 1973, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Southold furnish said transportation to the Southold Senior Citizens at a cost not to exceed $920.00. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supergisor Martocchia, Council!man Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WPiEREAS the Southold Town P.B.A. has requested the Town Board to open their contract for negotiations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board does not wish to open said contract for negotiations,=as it is a two year contract, effective January 1, 1973 and terminating December 31, 1974. Zoning (Chapter 100) Vehicles & Traffic (Chapter 92) Housing (Chapter 52) Wetlands (Chapter 97) Subdivision of Land (Chapter Al06) 50.00 4.00 2.o0 2.50 1. oo 2.o0 Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, ' ~ Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS Edgar and Arlene Marvin, by petition dated May 7, 1973 petitioned the Town Board for a change of zone on certain property situated at S0uthold, from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Ligh't Business District, and WHEREAS the said petition was referred to the' Southold Town Planning B~ard fofPofficia~ recommendation ahd report, and ' WHEREAS the Town Board, pursUant to due notice held a public hearing thereon on the 10th day of July 1973 at 7:30 P.M., at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, NDe, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the retief demanded in said p?~ition be and the same is in all respects Denied. MOved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, ~EREAS Leisure Greens, Inc. by appliCa'tion dated Ma~rch 22, 1972 ~titioned the Town Board f~r a change of zone on certain property siiltuated at Cutchogue, New York, from "A" Residential and Agricultural D!istrict to "B" Light Business Dist~i~t, and W}~EREAS the said petition was referred to the Southold Town Planning Bos~d for official recommendation and report, and WHEREAS the Town Board, pursuant to due notice, held a public hearing thereon on the 10th day of July 1973 at 8:00 P.M., at which time all ihterested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, i~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ~at Leisure Greens, Inc. of Mattituck, ~e~ York, be granted a change of zone from "A" Residential and Ai~ricultural District to "B" Ligh~'Business District on their plr!0perty at Cutchogue, New York, more particularly bounded and ~Scribed as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of ~ northerly line of Main Road with the westerly line of Griffing Si~r.eet and running thence along .said westerly line of Griffing S~r~eet, two courses: (1) N. 40© 23' 10" W. 73.50 feet and (2) Iq. 412 29 30" W. 218.70 feet and thence along land of Leisure Greens, Inc., S. 51© 02' 20" W. 189. 14 feet to a concrete monument and the point olf ~eginning, and from said point of beginning running along land Of The Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart at Cutchogue, four ci0~rses and distances: (A) S. 76© 22' 50" W. 225.0 feet; (2) Iq. 69© 3~5" W. 67.0 feet; (~) ~. 37° 14' 50" W. 640.0 feet and (4) Iq. 52© 34' 50" E. 237.59 feet; thence along said land of Leisure Greens, Inc., S. 37© 34' E. 787.53 feet to the point of beginning. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Superv~so~ Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman }toman, Justice Suter. Moved by Councilman Homan, ~econded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that Police Chief Carl Cataldo be and he hereby is authorized to lease one police radio for the Southold Town Police Department. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Surer. ~oved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS a vacancy exists in the office of T®wn Assessor, caused by the resignation of Wendell B. Tabor, and WHEREAS it is the desire of the Town Board of the Town of Southold that such vacancy be filled, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Melvin A. Kelsey, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is appQinted Southold Town Assessor, to serve in that acapacity until the next general election in November, 1973, and be it further RESOLVED that Melvin A. Kelsey begin his appointmen~ on ~h~ust 16, 1973, at a yearly salary of $10,500.00, to be paid in regular semi- monthly payments, and be it further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificates with the proper parties as required by Section 30, Subdivision 3 of the Town Law. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, J~tice Suter. On motion of Couhcilman R6ch, seconded by Councilman Homan, it_ was RESOLVED that this Town Board be recessed at 4:00 P.M., to reconvene at 5:00 P.M. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Surer. Meeting reconvened at 5:00 P.M. On motion of Justice Sute~, seconded by Councilman~H0man, it was RESOLVED that General bills in the amount ~f $L7,7~72.60; Fishers Islsnd Ferry District bills in the amount of $26,023.99; S~ecial District bi~ ~h~mqun~g.~ ~70.13.; and~Highway bills in the amount of $10,870.73,.be and the same are hereby order~ed~paid.
