Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Town Board accepts the resignation of Thomas B. Reeve, a faithful member of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council since June 1, 1969. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS a dedicated and well-trained Fire Service is essential for the protection of life and property of all its citizens; and WHEREAS, time and experience have demonstrated that a well-informed citizenry together with a well-planned Fire Prevention Progra~ is essential to community Fire Safety; and WHEREAS the 7 Volnnte~r Fire Departments, with over a thousand dedicated fire fighters protect 52 square miles and respond to hundreds of alarms, pro~ect over 18,000 residents of this Town, provide a coordinated Fire Safety Program which contributes to the development of an alert, well-informed community; and WHEREAS the setting aside of a special Volunteer Firemen's Rec'ognition Week for the public to take note of the volunteer Fire Service throughout the towns and villages, to be remznded of this most essential service and to express appreciation of the work and efforts- of all connected with the Volunteer Fire Service of the great Town of Southold, 397 NOW, THEREFORE, I, Albert M. Mar%occhia, as Supervisor of the Town of Southold, do hereby proclaim the week of July 23 through. July 28, as SOUTHOLD TOWN VOLUNTEER FIREMEN'S RECOGNITION WEEK and u~ge all citizens to participate fully in its observance in order to show their appreciation and awareness of the Volunteer Fire Service and its work throughout the Town of Southold, and give their active support for every program designed to improv~ the VOlunteer Fire Service, and to think of the Fire Service in ~ts true meaning, that is, alert, Well-prepared, well-trained, dedicated men, who respond at all times to the Fire/Rescue emergencies of the citizens of this CQunty. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Town of Southold to be affixed this 10th day of July, 1973. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by CounCilman' Rich, WHEREAS the Marian CounCil ~3853 Knights of Columbus applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo Lieense, and ~!4EREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required by law~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of uhe Town Board, the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Marian Council $3852 Knights of Columbus~ Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman RiCh, Councilman ~Homan, Justice Surer, Justice .Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by~ Justice Demarest, WHEREAS Emma Enterprises~ Inc. has made application to the Town Board .to dedicate certain roads at Laurel, New York, to be known as "DELMAR DRIVE", "DELMAR' DR~VE WEST", "JOSEPH STREET", "GtNA STREET?, "EMMA DRIVE!', together with release executed by the owner thereof, a~nd WHEREA~ ~the Southold Town Highway Superintendent has inspected the said highways and has advised the ~Town Board .that said proposed h~ighways ~eomply in all respects with the specifications for the dediCatiOn of ~highwayS-in the Town~ of Southold,~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in accordance with Section 171 of the ~g~y Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same is giveh to~ the S~perintende~ O~ Highways' t~o mak~ an order laying out the aforesaid highways, to consist of landS-described in said appl~ication as sho~n on certain maps attached to said application~, and' ........ Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Ridh, it was RESOLVED that General bills in the amount of $21,461.36;. Fishers Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $24,764.55;. Special District bills in the amount of $4,950.67; Capital Fund bills in the amount of $23,532.28; and Highway bills in the amount of $25,0~3.63~,~e and th~ same are hereby ordered paid. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by COuncilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the bill of Soil Mechanics Corp. in ~he ~amount $975.00 for test borings at three proposed Town Hall sites, be! and hereby is ordered paid from the Capital Account. Hass by application dated September 14, 1972 petitioned the Town Board for a change of zone on certain property situated at Southold, N~w York, from "A" Res~idential and Agricultural D~strict to "B-i" General Business District, and W~tEREAS the said petition was referred to the Southold Planning Board for official -recommendation and repprt,, and WHEREAS the Town Board, pursuant to due notice, held a public' hearing thereon on the 13th day of February, 1972, at 7:30 P~M.., at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Helmut A. Hass of Southold, New York be g.ranted a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B-i" General Business District on his property at Sou%hold, New York, and more particularly bounde~ an~ described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the s~therly line of the North Road, Southold, New York, and the northeasterly corner the subject premises to be described; running thence South 31° 40' 50" East 90.18 feet to the southeasterly cor~r of the subject premises; running'thence South 61° 59'10" West 387.76 feet parallel to the southerly line of the said North -Road to the southwesterly corner.of the ~nbject premises; ~unn~ng thence North ~1° 40' 50" West 90~18 feet tc southerly line of the said North Road and the northwesterly corner of the subject premises; running thence North 61° 59' 10~ East 387.76 feet .along the southerly line of the said North Road to the point or place of beginning. Moved by Councilman Homart, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS William Bi Conway and Wilfred Jerome Conway by application dated January 9, 19~3 petitioned the Town Board for a change of zone on certain property situated at Southold, New York, f~om "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B-I" General Business District, and 399 WHEREAS the said p-etition was referred to the Southold Town Planning Board for official recommendation and report, and WHEREAS~he~Town Board, pursuant to.due notice, held a public hearing thereon on the 29th d~ay of May 1973 at 7:30 P.M~,~at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, NOW,-THERE~ORE~ BE IT-RESOLVED-.tha~ William ~B. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS this Town Board deems it in the public interest and in the promotion of health, safety, moral or general welfare to the Town of Southold that certain premises in Southold, Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, New York, hereafter more fully described be rezoned from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B-I" General Business District, and WHEREAS the said proposal was referred to the Southold Town Planning Board for official recommendation and report, add WHEREAS the Town Board, pursuant to due notice, held a public hearing thereon on the 29th day of May, 1973 at 8:00 P.M., at whiCh time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, including the Building Zone Maps be amended by the Town Board on its own motion by changing from"A" Residential and Agricultural Districb to "B-I" General Business District the following described property situated at Southold, New York: BEGINNING at a point on the westerly line of Mechanic Street where said line is intersected by the line between Zone A and Zone B-i; f~om said point of beginning running southerly along said westerly line of Mechanic Street, 620 feet, more or less, to land of Rimmler; thence Westerly along said land of Rimmler 463 feet, more or less, to Wells Avenue; thence along said Wells Avenue, two courses: (1) westerly 150 feet, more or less, thence (2) northerly 471 feet, more or less, to said line between Zone A and Zone B-l; thence easterly along said line, 580 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that proceedings be immediately started to change the property of John Scott, Cummings, H. & E. Williams, D. T. Smith, and R. T.
