Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that Salvadore Crimi be and he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, for a probationary period beginning June 1, 1973, and ending June 1, 1974, and be it further RESOLVED that Salvadore Crimi will serve in the capacity of Police Patrolman at the pleasure of the Town Board unless otherwise prOvided for by law, and be it further RESOLVED that the compensation during this probationary period be fixed at $8700.00, payable in semi-monthly payments effective as of June 1, 1973. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Surer, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board sign an approved amendme,nt agreement for extension to April 30, 1973 of the grant and project periods of Highway Safety Project Grant No. AL 71-025-(001) entitled "Traffic Enforcement Assistance, Part II" as follows: "A M E N D M E N T The AGREEMENT dated July 1, 1971 and bearing Comptroller's. Contract C57224 between the Town of Southcld and the Governor of the State of New York acting for the State of New York is hereby amended as follows: 1. The period shown in box 5 (June 1, 1971 May 31, 197~) representing the period covered by the National Highway Safety Bureau Obligation is deleted and the following ~substitution therefor: 2. ERO~3 ~n~h~,i&R~l TO: April 30, 1973. 2. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice~Demarest, WHEREAS the Southold Town Planning Board and Suffolk County P~anning.iBoard.have prepared~officiall reports-~ahd-.recommendations on~a propesed change~ of zone, on the Town Board's own motion, on certain property located on the south side of Main Road, Southold~ New York, said change from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B-i" General Business District as follows: Beginning at a point on the westerly line of Mechanic Street where said line is intersected by the line between Zone, A and Zone B-l; from said point of beginning running southerly along said westerly line of Mechanic Street, 620 feet, more or less, to land of Rimmler; thence westerly along said land of Rimmler 463 feet, more or less, to Wells Avenue; thence along said Wells Avenue, two courses: (1) Westerly 150 feet, more or less; thence (2) Northerly 471 feet, more or less, to said line between Zone A and Zone B-I, thence easterly along said line, 580 feet, more or less, to the. point of beginning. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Counc-ilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the public hearing %set for .May 8, 1973 at 3:30 P.M. on "'An ordinance to provide for partial~ tax exemption o~ real property owned by certain persons with limited income who are 65 years of age or over, pursuant to Section 467 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of ~ew York" be recessed to May 15, 1973 at 7:30 P.M., due to certain changes being made by. the State and Federal government. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS-John B. Tuthill of ~Or-ient, New York, has submitted to this Boa~rd p~-oposed agreements involving three parcels of land a't Orient, New ¥ork,~ owned by the said John B. Tuthill~ upon which' the said John B. Tuthill proposes to grant to the Town of Southold scenic and/or conservation easements, and W~IEREAS, the Board~has examined the proposed agreementsand believes that it is zn the public interes~t to acquire the easements proposed by the said John B. Tuthill effecting the -real ~rope~ty described in said agreements, and WHEREAS., Section ~47 of-the. General. Municipal Law provides that this Board shall hold a public hearing ~ith respect to said grants of easements, 347 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Rublic hearing will be held by this Board at the Supervi~r's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York on the 15th day of May, 1973, at 8:00 P.M. in the matter of the grant of scenic and/or conservation easements by John B. Tuthill to the Town of Southold in accordance with the aforesaid agreements presented to this Board, and it is further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk cause notice of such hearing to be published in accordance with law.
