Absent: Supervisor Albert M..~Martocchia Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of March 6, 1973 and March 13, 1973, be and they hereby are approved Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 10, 1973 at the office of Supervisor Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS William Lieblein, Southold, New York, has volunteered to place navigation stakes in the entrance of Arshamomaque Pond for the year 19~3, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that William Lieblein be and he hereby is authorized by the Southold Town Board to place markers in the entrance of Arshamomaque Pond at a cost not to exceed $75.00. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Do~en. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Town Board accepts the resignation of Rev. Charles Baker, with regrets, as a faithful member of the Southold Town Narcotic Guidance Council for many years. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doye~n. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that Rev. Pasquale M. Renzulli, Greenport, New York, be appointed a member of the Southold Town Narcotic Guidance Council. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: ~eputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS Patrolmen John J. Charters III, Joseph T. Reiter, and Michael T. Burke have served their probationary period, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Patrolman John J. Charters III, Patrolman Joseph T. Reiter, and Patrolman Michael T. Burke be and they hereby are appointed Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold, New York, effective March 27, 1973, and be it further RESOLVED that Patrolmen Charters, Reiter and Burke will serve in the capacity of Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of the Town Board unless otherwise provided for, and:be it further RESOLVED that the compensation be fixed at $9,900.00 per year, effective April 1, 1973, and payable in regular bi-weekly payments. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by CoUncilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Southold TOwn Board ~lease the bond of Mary Grigon~s in the amount of $42,000.00 as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board and Superintendent of Highways for the completion of roads and, qther improvements in the subdivision kno~rn as Harvest Homes Estates, Section I, Southold, New York. Vote of th~_To_w~ Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen~ Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board release the bank books and withdrawal Slip in the amount of $59,504.39 as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board and Superintendent of Highways for the completion of roads and otherimprovements in the subdivision known as Leeward Acres, developed by Leeward Acres, Inc. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Ric~, WHEREAS Thomas P. Dougherty, Joseph A, Shipule, and Abraham B~nder have made_app!ication to the Town Board to dedicate a certain road at Southold,. New York, to be known as SHIP'S DRIVE, more fully described in said petition, together with release executed by the owners thereof, and WHEREAS the Southold Town Highway Superintendent has inspected the said highway and has advised the Town Board that qaid proposed highway complies in all respects with the specifications for the dedication of highways in the Town of Southold, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in accordance with Section 171 of. the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same ~s given to the S~perintendent-of~Highways to make-an order laying out the aforesaid highway to consist of lands described in said application as shown on certain maps attached to said application, and .... BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and~.directed to forthwith cause t~e dedication, release and deed to-be recorded.in, the-office of the Clerk of the County of Suffolk, New York. Moved,by Councilman Hogan, seconded, by Councilman, Rich., it was RESOLVED,that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold~be authorized-to advertise for.bids and to,purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, the following;.more,or~ less as needed: Item,No. 1 15,000 lin. feet of. snow fence with pickets 1½ by ½ inches, spaced 2 inches apart, 4 feet high stained red~ ~ith~%five (5) double strands of 12~ gau~e, galvanized wire.in 100 lin~ foot rolls I~em .No. 2 -.1~000 - 6 ft. studded steel~posts with flanges or anchor places on posts, posts shall not be less 332 than 8.65 lbs. each. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest b~onsible, the following more or less, as. needed: 300 tons of Grade No. 1 Cayuga (or equal) rock salt. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS a-~petition was received from Albert W. Albertson, Southold, New York, requesting a change of zone on certain property at Arshamomaque, New York, said petition for a change of zone from - "A" Residential and Agricultural District to'"C" Light Industrial District, NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED that the Town Clerk of t~e Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the ~lanning Board in accordance with Article XVI, Section 1600 of the Buildinq Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS Florence Steiner applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated March 12, 1973, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Florence Stelner to locate a single trailer on her property at John's Road, east side Main Road, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS John Tuthill applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated March 16, 1973, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED thatthe application of John Tuthill to locate a single trailer on his property at the east side Elijah's Lane, Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS Sophie Saunders applied to the Town Board for a ~si~gle! trailer renewal permit' dated March 28, 1973, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the applicationof Sophie Saunders to locate a single trailer on her property at Main Road, Laurel, New York, be and hereby is granted' for a period of ~ix (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Deputy Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justide Doyen. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homart, it was RESOLVED that Justice Francis T. Doyen, Town of Southold, be and he ~s hereby authorized to attend Albany Law School for instruction courses the weekends of April 6th and 13th, 1973, and be it further RESOLVED that the actual and necessary expenses to travel, meals and lodgzng incurred while attending said school be a legalI charge againstthe Town of Southold. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby zs ~nstructed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install a 1~5 MV light 333 on the corner of Oregon Road. a~d. ~i]~l'.Road, Matt~tuck, Pole ~66LILCO. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: DePuty Supervisor Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homo-n, JuStice Surer, Just$ce Doyen.' Mrs. Jean Tiedke appeared before the Town Board inquiring about the progress of a map showing flood insurance plan areas, and was advised Mr. Howard Terry, Building Inspector, has this map. Mrs. Tiedke also asked about filling of land on Bayview Road, So~thold and an arm of Broad~aters Road near Oak Drive in Cutchogue; a pier in Greenport Harbor; two groins in Peconic Bay off of East Marion; remodeling of business store fronts; and the cost of copying Town records. Mrs. Gladys Csajko asked for information regarding charges for copies of Town records. She suggested a lower rate be charged, and the Town Board advised they would take it under consideration. Mr. Edwin. Fickeissen appeared before the Town Board to discuss the use of Assessor's cars. Adjournment was at ~:00 P.M. Albert W. Richmond Town Clerk
