to the CAST Board. In our last letter you were informed that it
was the sense of the CAST Board that 'Supervisor Martocchia serve
as the ToWn Board representative to CAST. Furthermore, the minutes
of our February 1st CAST Board meeting show that Sherley Katz
withdrew her name as the Town Board designee.
"Therefore, we respeCtfully requeslt that the Town Board
designate Supervisor Martocchia as the Town Board representative
to CAST, effective immedate~y. We realize that the Supervisor is
a busy man, however, we believe that the elimination of poverty
in Southold Town is a priority issue which deserves the maximum
attention of the Supervisor. Furthermore, 5e is also the Town
Welfare Officer, as well as a person who has a reputation of being
able to ~nd jobs-and-transportation for people.-~ Last but not least,
he'iasmuch ~ore personable tha~:~. Katz. For all of these reasons,
and more, CAST needs Mr. Martocchia's direct participation. We
