MEETING OF ~0VEMBER 20, 1956.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor~Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, November 20, 1956. The meeting
was called to Order at 1:0 ~
3 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Superinten-
dent of Highways Price, Town Attorney Terry and Town clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: ~yes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tut~ill~ Clark
and Demarest.
Moved by JUstice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board
will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp ,at Green-
port, on Tuesday, December ~, 1956, at 1:30 P.~.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-S~pervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthi~l~ clark

Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Dem~rest:
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed~'te
request the ~Long Island Lighting Company to install three (3)
additional ~00 cp aerial street lights in the Cutchogue,.'New..
Suffolk Lighting District, said lights to be placed on P~les#12,
#15 and #17, on Stillwater Avenue, Cutchogue.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Kuthill, Clark
and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by JUstice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be and he hereby is appointed
permanent Police Patrolman (Constable) fo~ the Town of Southold,
effective as of NoVember 2~, 1956.
Vote of T own Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark
and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Jnsrice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. S38686, issued by the Travelers Indemnity
Company in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($~,O00.00) on. behalf
of Alice Treadwell Oswald be and. the same is hereby approved as to
its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.

At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of So~thold
Suffolk County, New York, held at Greenport, in said Town, on
the 20th day'of NoVember, 1956~ at l:SO P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
The meeting was called to order by Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, a~
the roll ~eing called, there were
PRESENT: Supervisor. Norman E. Klipp, Justices Ralph W. Tuthill,
Hoary A. Clark and Louis M. Demarest.
ABSENT: Councilman Lester M. Alber~son and Justice E. Perry Edwards.
The following resolution was offered by'Justice Tuthill, who moved
its adoption, seconded by Justice Clark, to wit:
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York, by~a bond resolution dated June 12, 19%6, authorized the
issuance ef $$5,000 serial bonds for the acquisition of certain
real property in and for the Mattituck Park District in said Town:
and
WMEREAS, it is now desired to provide for the details and authorize
the sale ~f such bonds and to provide for other matters in connection
therewith, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York, as follows:
Section 1. The serial bonds described in the preamble hereof shall
each be designated substantially MATTITUCK PARK DISTRICT (SERIAL)
BOND, 1956, shall be dated October 1, 1956,~of the denomination of
$1,000 each, numbered from 1 to $%, both i~clusive, maturing in
numerical order in the amount of $2,000 on 0ctoher 1 in each of the
years 19%7 to 1971, both inclusive, and $~,000 on October 1 in each
of the years 1972 to 1976, both inclusive, and shall bear interest
at a rate not exceeding five per centum per annum, payable semi-
annually on April 1 and October 1.

SUch bonds shall b~ in bearer coupon form with the privilege of
conversion into bonds registered as to both principal and interest
and shall be payable as to both principal and interest in lawful
meneyof the United States of AmeriCa at First National Bank
in Greenport, New York, N~x~J~, which by contrast
is:ithe~"paying agent of the issuer. Such bonds shall be signed in
the name of said Town of Southold by its Supervisor, sealed with
its corporate seal, attested by its Town Clerk and the interest
coupons shall bear the facsimile signature of said Supervisor.
Section 2. All other matters, except as provided herein relating
to such bonds, shall be determined by the Supervisor of said Town
of Sou~hold. guCh bonds shall con~ain substahtiallY the recital of
validity clause provided for in Section ~2.0Oof the Local Finance
Law,nd shall otherwise be in such form and contain such recitals,
in addition to these required by Section 51,O0 of the Local Finance
Law~ as the Supervisor shall determine.
Section 3- It is hereby determined that subdivision 21 of paragraph
a of Section ll. O0 of the Local Finance Law applies to such object
or purpose end tha~ the period of probable usefulness thereof is
thirty y~ars, computed from August 2, 19~6, the date.of the earliest
bond anticipation note issued in anticipation of the sale of bonds.
SectiOn ~g The;faith and credit of the Town of Southold Suffolk
County, New Y rk, are hereby ~rrevocably pledged for the payment
of sai~ bonds~and the interest thereon. To pay said bonds ~nd the
interest thereon, there shall annually be levied and assessed against
the~thXable real property of said Par~ District, and ColleCted in
the same ma~ner~at the same time, and by the same officers as the
taXes~of Said Town are levied, assessed and cellected,:an amount
suffiCieRt~to pay such principal and interestI as~the~amerespeCt_
ively~become due and payable, but if not paid from Such source, all
the taxable real property within the Town will be subject to the
levy ef ad valorem taxes to pay said bonds and interest thereon
without limitation as to rate or amount.
Sec The powers and duties of advertising such bonds for sale,
~'the Sale and awarding the bonds, are hereby delegated to
the SUpervisor,~who shall advertise ~ the bonds for sale, conduct
the sale:and award the bonds in such manner as he shall deem best
for th~ interests of said Town of Southold, provided, however, that
in the~!~x~rcise of these delegated powers, he shall comply fully
with the provisions of the Local Finance Law and any order or rule
of the State Comptroller applicable to the sale of municipal bonds.
The~re~eipt of the Supervisor of said Town of Southold, shall be
a .full uittance to the purchaser of such bonds, who shall not
be see the the application of the purchase money.
This resolution shall take effect immediately. The question
of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly put to vo~e on
roll call~ which resulted as follows: Norman Eo Klipp, voting yes
Henry'S. Olark, voiing yes, Ralph W. Tuthill~ vo~in~ yes, Louis M.
Demar~.s~t, v°ting~yes, Lester M. Albertson, Counc£1man~ absent.
The resolution was thereupon declared duly adopted.
