MEETING OF NOVEMBER 8, 1956.
The Southold Town Board met a~ the office of the Supervisor, No,man
E.1KlipP,~ at Greenport, on Thursday, November 8, 1956. The ~eeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
SUpervis?r Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and
DemareSt; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
TownClerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor. Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on
Tuesday, November 20, 1956, at 1:30 P.M.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: Tha~ the S~perintendent of Highmays be and he hereby is
authorized te advertise for~and purchase from ~he lowest bidder
sixty (60) tons of #1 New York State Rock Salt.

RESOLVED: That the S~perintendent ef Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to purchase from the municipal machinery Company, of
Coram~ L.I., one half yard P.M. Dragline Bucket, at s cost not to
exceed the Sum of $800.00.

and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is
authorized to advertise for and purchase from the lowest bidder
four (~) lO.O0 x 25 Low Pressure Heavy Duty 8-ply rating ground grip
builder tires and tubes or equal.

and Demarest and Councilman Albertson.

~RESOLVED: The Bond No. SM 178-218-1, issued by th~ American Motorists
Insurance Company in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) on
behalf of James J. Fitzpatrick be and the same is hereby approved
as to its form , manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.

Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. %86521, issued by the Travelers Indemnit~
Company in th~ sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) on behalf
of Christian J. Earshall be and the smme is hereby approved as to
its form, manner of execution, and sufficiency of surety therein.

RESOLVED: Thet Irving M. Rogers of Greenport, Margaret E. Thompson
of Southold~ Betty Tyler of Mattituck and Alfred R~ Grebe~ Jrt. of
Fishers Island, be and they~ hereby are appointed Dog Enumerators-
for the Town of Seuthold, for the year 1957.
Veto of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Damare~t.
Lawyer Bernard Meyer appeared before the Board representing Frank
McBride. He stated that when it rains the water backs up on about
one acre of Mr. McBride's farmland and wanted to know if it could
be arranged so that the water would drain on Town property~ The
Board stated that they would view the situation. He also stated
that Duck Pond Read,"which is a Town Highwa$"is infringing 17 or
18 feet on Frank McBride's property. The Board stated they would
have the road surveyed and establish the correct boundary lime.
The Public he~ring on the preliminary budget was formerly~opened
by the Supervisor at 2 0'clock P,M, in accordance with the notice
published in the newspapers e~ t~e Tewn~ required by SectionllS,
of the Town Law, The SuperviSor read the call of the hearing;
and as there were no interested persons having appeared before the
Board to speak either for or against any of the items in the pro-
posed budget~ the hearing was duly closed at 2:15 o'clock P.M.
