The Southold Town Board met at th* office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, August l~, 1956. The meeting
~as ca%led to orger at 1:30 P.N. with the following present:

Demarest; suPerintendent of Highways P~ice; Town Attorney Terry and
Town C.le~k BoOth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims
against the Town, concluding the Audit work at 2 o'clock P~M.
Moved by. Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED:i That the minutes of July 31st and August 9th be and hereby
are dulyapproved as read.
Vetoer Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Gouncilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest.
The following bonds were presented to the Board for approval:

i956, AUTHORIZING' THE ISSUANCE OF A BUDGET
NOTE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, SUFFOLK ¢0UN~y,
NEW YORK, IN THE AM0~NT OF $i3~:,900. FOR-EX i~
PENDITURE8 FORWHICH AN INSUFFICIENT PROVISION WAS MADE IN'THE
ANNUAL BUDGET.
BE IT RESOLVED this l~th day.of August, 19~6, ~y the Town of
Seuthold, S~folk Co%u~ty, New York~ as follows: '
Sectio~ 1. That~ pursuant to Subdivision 2(b) of Parag~apha of
Section 29.00 of the Lical Finance Law, for the prupose of-paying
the co~t of repairs to Town Highways, for'which an insUfficien~
provision was made in the annual budget ~or the current fiscal
year~ there is hereby authorized to be issued a bUdget note of
the Town of Southold in the principal amount of $13,900., which
is the maximum cost of such object or p~pose, WhiCh note'shail
mature on February 1st, 1957.
Section 2. That, excePt as herein specifically prescribed, said
note shall be of the d~te~ terms, for~, contents and placeof
payment, and at a rate of~interest net exceeding three per centum
per annum, as may .be determined by the ToE Supervisor, consistent,
however~ with of said Local Finance Law'of ~the State
of N ~e executed in.the of 'the Town of
South~ld isor and the seal of Towm shall be
a!tadhed thereto.
Sgction ~. That siad-note shall be sold a~private sale-by.'the
T~wn'$~pervisor at a priCe of not less than par value and accrued
interes%~ if anY, an~dupon due execution and isle of~said note.
the same shall be delivered to the purchaser upon pa~ymentby him
to the Town Supervisor~of the pUrchase price in cashi ~nd~the
reced~pt of such Supervisor~shalI be a~full acquittance to such
purchaser.who shall ~not be 'obliged to see to the application
of the purchase money.
Section ~.The full faith and credltof the Town ef Southold, New
Ye'rE, are pledged to the p~cual payment of principal and interest
on said note~

The question of the adoption ef the foregoing resolution was duly

THE TOWN OF $0UTHOLD, in the County of Suffolk,.a ~municipali~Y of
the State of New York, hereby acknowledges itself ind~bSed and~for
value received pro~ises to pay to
the sum of Thirteen Thousand..and Nine H~drsd ($i3~900) Dollars,
on the let day of February, 1957,o~Ogether~ with interest thereon
from the date hereof at the rate per centum ( %)
per annum, payable semi-annually. Both principal of and interest
on this note shall be paid in lawful money ef the United States
of America, at the office of the Supervisor, Greenport~ Suffolk
County~ New York. The Town of Southold shall have the priVilege
of pre-paying the whole or any part of the unpaid balance Of the
principal sum at any time prior to maturity.
This note may not be converted to registered form.
This note is the only note of an amthorized issued'in the amount of
Thirteen Thousand and Nine Hundred ($13,900.) Dollars, for the
purpose of paying the cost of repairs to Town Eighways, for which
an insufficient provision was made in the annual 'budget for the
current?fiscal year. This note is issued pu~rsuan, t tothe provisions
of a resOIUtion entitled "Budget Note R~solution" duly adopted by
the" Town Bo~rd of such Town of SOuthold~ onAug~st,~lSth, 1956.
The'~aith~d credit of such Town Of Southold are hereby irrevO-
cably pledged for the pUncual payment of the principal of snd int-
erest on this note according to its terms.
