Booth Town Clerk A public hearing w~s held by the Town Board at Village Hall at Greenport~ on~ Wednesday~ May 23~ 1956. The meeting was duly opened at ?:BO P.M. in accordance with the legal notice published in the Town newspapers~ With the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest~ Councilma~n Albertson~ Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The p~rpgse of this meeting was to consider a proposed contract with the Eillage of Greenport for the furnishing of fire protection to be furnished by said Village to the East-k~est Greenport Fire Protection DiStrict, The Supervisor read the call of the meeting and called upon any person present who wished to speak either for oragainst the pro- posed contract, Stanley Corwin spoke in favor of the Fir,e Hydrant Contract. He was not in accord with the Fire Protection Contract, He stated the con- tract was unfair and the rate of $2.60 was too high and something should be,don~ to h~ve it reduced. Robert White stated he was in favor of the contracts. The Town Board stated they would take the matter ~nder consideration and decide8 to hold a meeting with the Greenport Village Board and see if the con~act could b~ revised ~nd the term of the contract reduced, ~djo~rmment wac at 8:30 P.M.
