The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Elipp at Greenp~rt, on Tuesday, April 24, 1956. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Justices Tuthill, and Demarest; Councilman Albertson; Supt.
of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
Mo~ed by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as corrected.
Vote of T~wn Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, and
Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED:That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman Eo Klipp at Greenport~ on
Tuesday, May 8, 19~6, at 1:30
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp~ Justices Tuthill and
Demarest and Councilman Albert~on.
Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, The term of Charles F. VanDuzer as member of the Southold
Town Planning Board expires on the 30th day of April, 19~6~ and
WHERF~,S~ Charles F. VanDuzer has rendered a most valuable service
to the T~wn of Southold, now~ therexore, be it
RESOLVED. That CSarles F. VanDuzer be reappointed as a member of
the Southold Town Planning Board for a term of five (~) years,
such term expiring on April 30, 196~.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill and
Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson$ seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED: That SuperVisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is author-
ized to sign Supplem~e~tal Agreement No. ~ and No. ~ Lease Contract
No. DA-30-OT~-F2~G-l~3i8 is made by the S~cretary of the Army and the
Town of Southold~ property located at Fort H. G. Wright~ Fishers
Island, N.Y.

Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seoonded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Edwin So Conklin, Building Inspector for the Town
of Southold, be given a leave of absence for one year without pay~
effective as of May l~ 19~6.

Demarest and Councilman Albertson.
~essrs. Kapp appeared before the Board to seek approval of papers
of d~dication etc. for a road through their property known as
SEAWOOD ACRES at Bayview. When specifications are met, the Board
agreed to view same and consider taking it over as a public road.
Moved by Justice Demarest; secondSd by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS~ the Town Superintendent of Highways did~ on the lO day of
April, 19~6, duly recommend the purchase of certain equipment pursu-
ant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law~
-NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized
to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Article ~-a of the
General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County Superintendent
of Highways, the following:
One new 19~6 Buick Super $ door Sedan, wheel base 127", horsepower
22~ with following standard equipment: power steering~ Dynaflow
drive~ foam rubber seat cushions~ DeLuxe steering wheel, Wheel
covers, 760 x l~ tubeless tires, oil filter, o~l bath air cleaner,
clock~ and directional lights~ color castle grey~ heater, radio and
defroster~
for s maximum price of Thirty-nine hundred ninety-eight & 8~/100 Dollars
($3998.8~)~ delivered at Peconic, L.I., N. Y. and to be delivered on
or about May l~, 19~6.
The Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized~ sub-
ject to the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways~
to surrender to. the vendor
One 1953 Buick Super Sedan
as part payment for the above equipment to be purchased,

A contract of purchase for the item purchased shall be duly
executed between the Town Superintendent of Highways and such
vendor~ and when duly approved by the County Superintendent of
Highways~ it shall become effective. When such contract has been
duly executed snd approved, the Supervisor is authorized to
complete such pnrchase upon delivery of the item purchased in
accordance with the terms of such resolution and such contract~
and to p~y the abo~e amount specified to be paid by check
(1) by a check drawn on the Machinery Fund (Item#~) for $2~273.8~
