Martocchia, Councilman Howard Valentine~- Councilman James Rich, Justice Martin Suter, Justice Louls Demarest, Town Supt. of ~ighways Raymond Dean, Town Attorney Robert Tasker, and Town. Clerk Albert W. Richmond~ Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of May 25, 1971 be and they are hereby approved. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Demarest~ ~EREAS, Marian Council ~3852, Knights of Columbus, Cutchog~e, New York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and~.he ,~ hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the findings as required by law, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License_to the Marian Council ~3852, Knights of Columbus. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That Police Chief Carl Cataldo be and he hereby is authorized to attend Police Chief Conference September 20-30, 1971, FURTHER RESOLVED: That the sum not to exceed $200.00 for traveling expenses and meals and lodgi~g incurred~while attending said Conference be a legal charge against the Town of Southold. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED: That Albert W. Richmond, Town Clerk, Town of Southold, be and hereby is authorized to attend Town Clerk School at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, on June 21,22,23, 1971, and be i~ f~ther RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attendingi said school be a legal charge against the Town of Southold. Moved by Councilman Valentine, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS, a written petition, dated March 15, 1971, was heretofore and on June 8, 1971, duly filed with this board pursuant to Section 200 of the Town Law of the State of New York for the improvement of highways in said town known as Gin Lane, Bay Haven Lane, Watersedge Way and Midway situate at Bay Haven, in the Town of Southold, and ~hown and designated on a certain map entitled "Map of Bay Haven at Southold, Suffolk County, New York" filed in the Suffolk County Clerk's Office on January 22', 1959, as Map No. 2910, by the permanent pavement of the same and the construction of such curbs, gutters., catch basins and drainage facilities as may be necessary; and whereas it duly appears that such pDtition has been duly signed by the owners of real estate owning at least one-half of the entire frontage or bounds on both sides of said highways situate between the points aforesaid and whereas it duly appears that such pe'titicn was-'al'so duly signed by resident owners owning not less than one-half of the frontage owned by resident owners residing in or along such highways; and whereas such petition was duly acknowledged or proved by all the signers thereof in the same manner as a deed to be recorded; and whereas the-~max'imum amount proposed to be expended~for the improve- ment of said highways ~s stated.in the petition is the sum of $10,500.00~ it is, pursuant to the prowi~sions of said Section 200 of the Town Law of the State of New York, hereby OP~DERED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, N~W Y~rk,~ shall.meet at the~Supervisor's Off-ice in said Town on the 6%h~day~of July~ 1971, at 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon of that day,' for ~the purpose of cO~sideri~g the said,-petitio~ and hearing all perso~S~interes~ed in the subjec'~ ~hereof 'concerning the same. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That the ~uperintendent of Highways' Dean be and he hereby is authorized to attend Superintendent of Highways Convention at Shelter Island,' New York, on June 12 and 13, 1971, and further RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending said convention be a 19gal charge against the Town of Sou'thol~d.
