Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Rich; WHEREAS, many of our veterans on Fishers Island may be in need of Veterans Hospital, and WHEREAS, the nearest Veterans Hospital is many miles away, ~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the South01d Town Board doeS'~e~ dorse and favor a Veterans Hospital located in the Southeastern Connecticut area. vote of Town Board: Ayes-Deputy Supervisor Valentine; Councilman Rich; Justices Demarest~and Suter. Moved by Justice Surer; seconded by Justice Demarest; ;-- ;'- WHEREAS, Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legion, Greenport, N.Y. applied to the Town Clerk for an Amended Bingo License, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invertig- ation duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREF.ORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby ~s authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the find- ings and determinations as requimed by law, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue an Amended Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legzon, Greenport, ~ew YSrk. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That the Town Board accept a Bond or check in the amount of $5,500.00 as recommended by the Southold Town Plannzng Board for the completion of roads, drainage and other improvements approved by Lawrence Tuthill, Construction Engineer, zn the subdivision known as "Eastward Manor" developed by Peconic Homes Inc., Mattituck, N.Y. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Rich; WHEREAS, the Town Board has accepted the resignation of Dr. John Hansen from the Narcotics Council, with regret, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Dr. Barry Hellman be and he hereby 393 is appointed to replace the vacancy made by the resxgnation of Dr. John Hansen on the Narcotics Council . Moved b~ Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilman Rich; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install one 175 MV street light on p~!e~:~451, Main Road, Southold, N.Y. vote of Town Board: Ayes:-Deputy Supervi~r Valentine; Councilman Rich; Justices Demare~t and Suter. The Board adjourned after all present stood in silence in memory of the late Mr. John F. Rapp, South~ld, N.Y. who died in North ~arolina. Mr. R~pp w~s well known and admired for his concern for safety and other~i~erests in the community. Mr. Arthur ~Kenniff, New Suffolk, appeared before the Town3Board pro- testing the proposed change of classification on his and other local properties from light industry to Commercial. He also was in disagree- ment with the New Suffolk Civic Association on the parking of car~ and trailers and the use of landing ramps. Adjournment was ~t 3:45 P.M. Albert W.
