The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E.~Klipp at Greempo~t, on Tuesday, June 7, 1955. The'meetin~
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices ~u~hill, Albertson, Clark.and Dom-
'ares't; Town S~erintendent of Highways Price and ToWnAttorney
Terry.
The Town Clerk being absent~ Justice Albertson~was appointed
Acting Town Clerk.
The Board Sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine
claims against the Townconcluding the Audit work at 2 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justcie Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and here-
by ane duly appr&ved as read.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board
be h~td at the office of Supervisor Klipp at Greenport~ on
Tuesday, June 28, 195%, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~
Albertson, Clark and Demarest.
Ray Donahue, a representative of the Burroughs Corporation~
appeared before the Board and spoke in reference to the Micro
Film for the safeguard of Town Records.
Mr. W. Harry Lister appeared before the Town Board requeSt-
ing some financial assistance in building a bulkhead or
braakwater out into the bay at Boatman's Harb~r, at Cutcho~ue,
in the Town of SoUthold. This matter was to be acted upon
by the Board at some la'er date.
R. G. Terry, Town Attorney, was instructed by the Board to
prepare a new lease for the parking area in Orient, property
of Edward L. Frost.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Normmu E. Klipp be and he hereby
£s authorized to enter a lease with Edward L. Frost~ of
Orient, New York, for all that tract or parcel of vacant
land situated, lying and being at Orient in the Town of
Southold, SUffolk County, New York~ bounded northerly by the
land of Alex Volinski, easterly by Village Lane~ southerly
by the land ~f Elbert Luce and westerly by !other land of
Edward L. Frost, for use as a town parking lot ~or a term ~£
commencing the first day of January, 19%% and ending December
3~, 195~ in the amount of Thirty-five Dollars ($3~.00) and be
it further
~RESOLVED: That the above mentioned parking lot be included
and covered by the Town's Scheduled Owners. Landlords and
Tenants Liability Policy in the amount of $20~000.00 per
Person and $40,000.00 each accident.

Stephen Coyle six days per week form 3 P.M. to 9 P.M. @ $1.2%
per hour, plus one day from 7 A. M. to 3:00 P.M.
@ $1.2% per hour.

Be it RESOLVED this 7th day of Jume, 1955, by the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, as follows:
Section 1. That, whereas the Town Board of~the Towm of So~thold
New York, by a resolution duly adopted on~Feb~
authorized the Supervisor of the Town of Southold te purchase
additional property adjacemt to the Town Dump at Cutchegme!,
in the Town. of S uthold~ Suffolk County, New York, at'a to~al
cost not exceeding $5,000., and whereas~ no proViSion wa;s made
in the annual budget to pay the cost of said ~urchase~ pursuant

to Section .29.00 a. o~ the Local Law, ~for~t~e put;

authorized to be issued a budget note of the Towm of
in the principal amount of $~00., which is the~maXimum'cost
of such objector purpose, which note shall mature on June ~h
1956.
Section 2. That, except as herein specifically prescribed,
said note shall~-be of the date, terms, form~ contents and place
of payment, ~nd at a rate of interest not exceeding two per
centum per annum, as may be determined by theTown Supervisor,
consistent, however, with the provisions of said Local Finance
Law of the State of New York, and shall be.executed in t~e name
of the Town of Southold by t~s Supervisor and the seal Of::said
Town shall be attached thereto.
Section 3. That said note shall be sold at private sale by the
Town Supervisor at a price of not less than pat value and accrued
interest, if any, and upon due executiona~d s~le of said note
the same shall be delivered to the purchaser upon .paymemt~:by him
te the Town Supervisor of the purchase price in cash; ~nd the
receipt of such Supervisor shall be & fullmacGuittance to.such
purchaser who sRall not be obliged to see th the applicatfOn of
the purchase money.
Section ~. The full faith and credit of the Town oF Southold,
New York, are pledged to the punctual payment of principal and
interest on said note.
Section 5, This resolution shall take effect immediately.'
The question of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was
duly put to a vote which resulted as follows:
Ayes- Supervisor Norman E. Klipp, Justices of the Peace
Louis M. Demarest, Ralph Tuthill, Lester Albertson, and
Hemry A. Clark.
Absent-Justice of the P~ace E. Perry Edwards.
Noes-none.
The Supervisor thsreupon declard that the resolution was duly
adopted.

WHEREAS the Legislature of the State of New York has seen
fit to reduce the mumber of justices of the Peace and to
provide for the election of town councilmen~ and
WHEREAS such legislation as enacted has revised Section 88
of the Town Law and is applicable to the Town of Southold
THEREFORE, be it resolved that in conformity with said
Section 88 of the Town Law there shall be elected at the
b~ennial town election to be 'held in 195~, one Justice of
the Pe~ce and one Town CS~ncilman~ each for a term of
four years commencing January l, 19~6.
