'Dear Permittee,
The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has reviewed your request to modify the
above referenced permit in accordance with the Uniform Procedures Regulations (6NYCRR
Part 621). It has been determined that the proposed modifications will not substantially change
the scope of the permitted actions or the existing permit conditions.
Therefore, the permit is hereby modified to authorize the addition of a 4-wide staircase
leading up to a 4'x5' platform, a raised 4'x50' ramp, 4'x 30' catwalk and 6'x20' float, as
shown on the plans prepared by Costello Marine Contracting Corp, last revised
4/4/2025, and stamped 'NYSDEC Approved" on 511/2025, subject to the addition of the
following Natural Resource Permit Condition:
28. Stairway Design: The stairway must be elevated a minimum of 4 feet over grade to
minimize disturbance or loss of the natural vegetation and reduce the potential for
causing or accelerating erosion of the bluff or hill. Disturbance to the natural vegetation
or topography seaward of the crest(top) of the bluff or hill must be restricted to an 8-foot
wide area, including the width of the stairway, as shown on the approved plans.
This letter is a modification to the original permit and must be available at the job site whenever
authorized work is in progress. All other terms and conditions'remain as written in the original
permit.

leading to a raised 4'x50' ramp leading down to a 4'x30' catwalk; reuse existing 3'x16' ramp
and 6'x20' floating dock situated in an "L" configuration; remove existing pilings and install
two (2) new anchor pilings; and the existing landward wood walkway to dock to be removed

The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of
the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP)
Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency
Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is
my recommendation that the action is CONSISTENT with the LWRP.
1. The dock received a permit (108) in 1960.
Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in
preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
