Discussion Items:
We have received one resume for one of the two committee openings. Gerard will respond to the
applicant and invite him to attend one of our meetings, so that the applicant can get a better
understanding of what being on the committee will entail.
Gerard hopes to have between 75-80 tree locations by our July meeting, so that in August we can
finalize our tree planting list and be able to advertise for bids for the purchase and installation of
the trees.
Gerard prepared a list of"Voluntary Assignments" for each member.
Derek will go to the schools on Arbor Day,April 25, 2025 to make the presentations.
We discussed what type of tree we should plant at the Oysterponds School for the winner of the
bookmark contest.
Committee will plan to meet on April 22, 2025 as a group after the seedlings have been received
to assemble all the handouts. (This will be in lieu of our regularly scheduled committee meeting
for April).
The winners of the poster contest will be recognized at Town Board, Tuesday, April 29 meeting
at 4:30 p.m.
We will move forward with installation of Peggy Murphy as a lifetime Honorary Member of the
Tree Committee by Town Board Proclamation.
Jay discussed the design of the new door hangars. Discussion was had whether to put a phone
number or to create a"town" email account address for people to respond to.
Discussion was had on whether or not we should order new banners which are used in the 4t' of
July parade, as the old banners are getting worn.
We will next meet on May 21, 2025. This meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Diane DiSalvo
