The Sou:hold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norman E. !f~ipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ October 26~ 1951+.
The.meeting was called to order at !:30 P.M, with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Norman E. Ktipp~ Justices Tuthil!~
Albe~tson~ Clark and Demarest~ Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and To~ Clerk Booth,
Moved by Justice Ciark~ seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be
and hereby are duly approved as read,

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly Audit Meeting of this

of New York~ be and hereby is requested to make surveys and
prepare plans and estimates df cost for the construction of
beach protective structures on Sound View Beach on Long Island
So~d~ Southoid Town~ Suffolk County~ New York~ and be it
further
RESOLVED: That it is the intention of the Town of Sou:hold
~o participate in the cost of such construction to the extent
of 2~ of the total cost.

RESOL~ED: That the annual Highway estimate and budget of the
Town 6f Southo!d for the fiscal year beginning January !~ 19~
pursuant to Section 14! and 267 of the High~ay Law and Section
11!: 112 and 113 of the Town Law be and hereby is approved~
and be it further
RESOLVED: That one copy be delivered to the Supervisor for
presentment by him to the Board of Supervisors.

of the Co~missioners of the Fishers island Ferry District
on entering into a bare boat charter~ flared October !9~ ~9~
between the interstate Navigation Co, and hhe Fishers Island
Ferry District~ for the use of the M/F Yankee for a period ::
f~om.0ctober 2~ !9>~+.~ to OctOber 30} 1951% both ~ates in-
clusmve~ at a rate of ~1~0.00 per day for the first ~ days of
chsrter~ and at a rate of ~100.O0 per day for any additional
days thereafter.

is authorized to purchase a new tape recorder for use in the
Justice Court~

reference to means of keeping the cham~el open.

A communication was received from the Board of Education
of the Orient School District requesting that they receive
police protection on Hailowe'en.

Education of the Orient School District on Ha!!o~e'en.

A communication was received from Henry Witiiams~ Principal
of the Southold High Schoo!~ stating they have a traffic
problem in front of the school at dismissal time as cars
park on both sides of the street. They would appreciate
it if the Town Board would limit' the parking to the west
side of Oak La~m Avenue in front of the school between
2:4g P.M, and 3:~ P.M. The Superintendent of Highways
was instructed to purchase two 'No Parking' signs and
install them on Oak Lawn A._enue in front ~f the school.

RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD ADOPTING ANNUAL
~UDu~T WITHOUT AMENDi~NT
WHEREAS~ The Town Beard of the Town of Southoid has met
at the time and place specified in the notice of public
hearing on the preliminary budget and heard all persons
desiring to ~e heard thereon; now~ therefore~ be it
RESOLVED: That the To~m Board of the Town of Southold
does hereby adopt such preliminary budget as originally
compiled~ as the annual budget of this Town for the fiscal
year beginning on the 1st day of January~ 19[[~ and that
such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the min-
utes of the proceedings of this Town Board~ amd be itfurther
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the To~ of Southold shall
prepare and certify~ in duplicate~ copies of said annual
budget as adopted by the Town Board of the Town of So~thold~
together with the estimates~ if any~ adooted pursuant to
Section 202-a~ subd. ,2~ of the Town Law ~nd deliver one
copy thereof to the Supervisor ~e~ this Town to be presented
by him to the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Suffolk.
