The meeting was called to order at 1.30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp~ Justices Tuthill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest; Superintefldent of Highways Prices Tovm Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once asaa committee on audit to examine claims against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2 o'clock P.M. Moved by Justice A!bertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOEVED: That the minutes of the meeting of August lO~ be and hereby are duly approved as read. Supervisor Klipp read a letter from Harold F. Udell~ Shellfish Sanitarian of the New York State Conservation Department concerning the establishment of an experim~ ental oyster area in Dam Pond~ East Marion. This propos~ sight lies in the northwest corner of the pond. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to take the aforementioned matter up with the Southold Town Board of Trustees. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Demares~ EESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approve the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on entering into a license contract No. DA-19-O16-eng-2826 with the United States Government covering the leasing of Government facilities located at the foot of John Street, New London, Connecticut, for the period from October l, ~9~, and ending ~eptember BO, 1951+, at a yearly rental of ne Dollar ($1o00) in advance. Clark: BUDGET NOTE RESOLUTION dated September 9, 195~ AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A BEDGET NOTE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD~ SUFFOLK COUNTY~ NEW YORK~ in the amount of $20~000. FOR UNFORESEEABLE PUBLIC E~RGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED this 9th day of September, 19~ by the Town of Southold, Suffolk County~ New York, as follows: Sectional. That, pursuant to Subdivisioh I of Paragraph A of Section 29 of the L~cal Finance Law~ for the purpose of paying the cost of extraordinary repairs to Town highways and other Town property required by an unforeseeable public 166 emergency in the nature-of a hurricane which occurred on August 31~ 195~ there is hereby authorized to be issued a budget note of the Town of Southold in the principal amount of $20~000.~ which is the maxim~ cost of such object or purpose~ which note shall mature on February lst~ 19~. S_~e~ctio~ 2. That~ except as herein s~ecifically prescribed sa~6 note shall be of the dated terms~ form~ contents and place of payment~ and at a rate of interest not exceeding three per centum per ann~m~ as may be determined by the Town Superviso~ consistent~ however, with the provisions of said Local Fiaance Law of the State of ~ew York~ and ~ shall be executed in the name of the Town of Southold by its Supervisor and the seal of said Town shall be attached thereto. Section 3, That said note shall be sold at private sale by, the Town Supervisor at a price of not less than par value and accrued i~terest~ if any~ and upon due execution and s~le of said note~the same shall be d~livered to the purchaser upon payment by him to the Town SuperVisor of the purchase price in cash~ and the receipt of such Super- visor shall be a full ac~iuittance to such purchaser who shall not be obliged to see to the application of the pur- chase money. Both principal of and interest on this note shall be paid in lawful money of the United Sta~es of America~ at the office of the Supervisor~ Greenport~ Suffolk County~ New York.
