The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow- ing present: Supervisor Klipp~ Justices'~t~ill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest~ Superintendent of HigHWays Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2 o'clock P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Cla~rk: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are~duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ klbert~on, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That the Town Board make its official visit to Fishers Island on Tuesday~ August 2~ 19~. '~ ....... Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest. At 2 o'clock P.M. in accordance with a notice published according to~.law~ bids were opened for proposals to furnish the Town of °outhold two 2-door sedan standard model auto- mobiles for use as police cars. Moved by Justice.Clark., seconded by Justice Albertson: ~LEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest bid was submitted by Cutchogue Auto Sales~ therefore be it RESOLV~ED: That Norman E. Klipp~ Supervisor~ be and he here- by is ~rected to enter into a contract with the Cutchogue Auto Sal~s for the purchase of two 2-door sedan standard model 8 c~i~r Automobiles at a total price of $2,2OO.OO to be delivered at the Police Department at Peconic in ~O days. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and her hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install four~ ($) additional aerial street lights in the Mattituck #1 Light- ing District, said lights to be placed on Poles No. 2 and 4 on Horton Avenue~ on Pole No. 6 on the corner of Horton Av~. and Oak St, and on. Pole No. 2 on Pine St. at Mattituck~ N.Y. Vote of Town Board. Ayes-SNpervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest . Klipp, Supervisor~ be and he here- ~y is authorized to instruct Paul's Servicenter~ Peconic~ New York~ to wash Police cars Nos. 80~ 81 and 82 once a week and cle~ th~ interior~ for ~2 w~eks at a monthly charge of eleven Dollars ($1!,90) for all three cars. Percy~ Jr. Esqo appeared before the Board rep- resenting the Southold-Peconlc Civic Association and re- quest~dgthe Town Board to enact an ordinance regulating Labor Camps in the Town of Southold. He states he would like to submit a draft of a proposed ordinance to be approved by the Town~ttorneyo Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by JmRtice Demarest: RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be and he hereby is appoint- ed Dog ~arden~for the Town of Southold~ and be it further RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be comosnsated for such position in the amount of $2~66.O0 per year~ and be it further RESOLVED: That the compensation be paid in regular monthly payments~ and be it further RESOLVED: That t~is appointment take effect as of September l~ 195~,.and be it fur~er RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be appointed Dog ~arden for the Town of Southold to serve at the pleasure of the Southold Town Board. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Just~e~ Demarest: RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be and herhereby is appoint- ed part time Police Patrolman (Constable) and be it further RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be compensated for such position at the rate of $910.00 per year~oand be it further RESOLVED: That such compensation be paid ~n regular bi-~ weekly payments~ and be it further RESOLVED: That this appointment take effect ~s of September ~ 195~+~ and be it further RESOLVED: That James Fitzpatrick be appointed Police Patrol- man (Constable) ~or the Town of So~thold to serve at the pleasure of the Southold Town Board.
