The meeting was called to order at 1:3~0 P N. with the ~ollowing p~esent: Su~rvisor.Klipp; Jus~tices Tuthi~l~ Alber~son~ lar~ and Demarest, Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town Concluding the Audit work at R o'clock P.M. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by'Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: ~ESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on ~uesday~ July 27~ 195l*, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill~ Albertson~ Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk, be and here- by is appointed~ subject to the written approval of the District Superintendent of Schools~ Attendance Supervisor of all schools throughout the Town except smch schools as are otherwise provided for by Section 321~ of the Education Law~ and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That such Attendance Supervisor shall be removable at the pleasure of the District Super- intendent of Schools~ and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation of such Attendance Supervisor be fixed at $1000.00 per year~ pay- able in regular monthly installments~ he to pay his own expense~ and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is instructed to notify Frank S. Dawson and the DistricC Superintendent of Schools of this appointment. Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Albertson~ Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he here- by is authorized to contribute the sum of $200~O0 to the Greenport Rotary Clmh to help defray the expense of adver- tising Southold Town in Booklets~ providing they advertise on a town wide basis. Moved by Justice Albertson; s~conded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of June be accepted by the Town Board and plac~d on file. Klipp be authorized to advertise for sealed proposals to furnish the Town of Southold two (2) 2-door sedan standard model AutOmobiles according to specifications~ for use as Police Cars. Smith be and he.hereby is appoint- ed Police Patrolman (Constable) to act in such capacity~J~ on the Southold ToWn Police Forcer and be it further RESOLVED: That compensation for such services be fixed at Twelve Dollar~ ($12.00) per day~ payable in regular bi-weekly payments~ and be it further RESOLVED: That this appointmmnt take.effect as of July l~, 195%, and be it further RESOLVED: That Harry W. Klipp be ~dhe here.x~_~ by is authorized to issue the following checksiin payment for the purchase of land and docks located at the foot of State Street~ New Lond~n~ Connecticut~ from the Fishers Island Navigation~Companyo (1) Payable to the Fishers Island Navigation Co.--$10~88~°5~ (2) Payable to the Title Guaranty and TruSt Co.--- 208.00 and be ~t further RESOLED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is author- ized to issue an additional check payable to the Title Guaranty and Trust Company in the amount of $70°00 owed for one extra chain of title in the purchase of property from the New York~ New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company. Frsnk Azarenok requested the Town Board to have two street lights installed on Horton Avenue in Mattituck~ N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to install two (2) additional aerial street lights in the Mattituck No.1 Lighting District, said lights to be placed on Pole No° ~ and Pole No. 6 on Nb~ton Avenue in Mattituck~ N.Y.
