The Southo!d Town Board met at the office of Supervisor
Norman E. Kiipp at Greenport: on Tuesday: April 27~ i9P~+.
The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Klipp~ Justices Tuthi!!~ Albertson~
~lar~ and Demarest~ Superintendent of Hig.~ways Price~ Town
Attorney Terry and To~m Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Ctark~ seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the two previous meetings
be and hereby are duly a~prs~ed as read. ./

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this

RESOLVED: That the following persons be and hereby are
appointed Fire Department Inspectors in their respective
Fire Departments~ to serve in such capacizy tuuti! January 1~
!9~ in accordance with Article 8~ Section 303~ Subdivision
4~ of the Multiple Resident Law.

RESOLVED: That all of these appointments be and hereby are
made retroactive to January !~ i95l+~ end be it further
RESOLVED: That the above mentioned per~ons serve in such
capacity without compensation,

~KqEREAS~ the commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry
District have by resolution determined that for the our-
poses of operation of said District it is necessary ~hat
certain real property 'situated at New London~ Connecticut~
be purchased from the Fishers Island Navigetion Company for
the s~ of Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12~000) and certai= add-
itional real orooerty from New York~ New Haven and Hartford
Railroad adjacent thereto for the s~ of Six Thousand Dollars
($6 ooo).
WHERE~S~ the Town Board of the ~own of ~outho!d has upon
due deliberation and consideration determined that the pur-
chase of such real property is im the best interests of said
District~
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOL-~ED: That in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 699 of the Laws of 1947 of the State
of New York~ as amended~ the acquisition of such lands is
determined 6y the Town Board of the Town of °outhotdto be
necessary for the purposes of such ferry~ and
BE !T~FL~THER RESOLVED: That the Supervisor of the Town
of ~outho!d be and he hereby is authorized 8dd directed
to enter into contracts for the purchase of said real prop-
erty of Fishers Zsiand Navigation Company for the s'o~ of
Twelve T~ousand Dollars ($t2~000) and said real property
of New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad for the s~m of
Six Thousand Dollars (~6~O00)and to pay the cons&~eration
therefore out of sums of meney now held by him and belonging
to the Fishers Island ~erry District,

~RESOL~ED: That Otto Lo Anrig~ Chief of Police~ be and he
hereby is instructed to place an order for uniforms for the
Police Department with H, Levin,

The Supervisor read s !etSer he received from William
Wickham~ Esq.~ Written in behalf of William J, Baxter~
Chairman of the road com~ittee of the Nassau Point Club
Association~ Inc,~ applying to the Town Board to request
the StateTraffic Commission to restrict speed over the
Town Highways at Nassau Point, The letter was turned over
to the Town Attorney~ who will reply to same.
The following Resolution offered by Justice Henry A. Clark
and seconded by Justice L~ster M, Atbert~on was duly adopted
by ~nanimous rising vote.
~EREAS: God %n his Providence has taken from our midst the
spirit of Charles To Brooks~
I~EREAS~ Charles T. Brooks served the Town of ~outhold as
its Supervisor faithfully and efficiently for a term of ~wo
years~
THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the Oouthold To%m Board deep-
ly mourns the passing of this ssso¢iate and friend and extends
its profound sympathy to .the members of his family in their
bereavement,
BE IT ~THER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be end he here-
by is directed to forward s copy of this Resolution to
the members of his family and a copy of this Resolution
be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and become a
part of the P~fib~i~a~r',d-s.~f~ the Town of Southoid,
