No. 1000-038.00-07.00-008.000, Our Job No. 460-ad Permit No. 49872—Detached Garage Construction inspections Dear Inspector Verity: As designer of the subject building, I prepared the construction plans on file for the building permit. It is my understanding that the Town did not inspect the detached garage and is requesting an engineer's certification of the as-built garage structure. On November 18, 2024 I personally inspected the garage structure. I was also provided with digital photographs taken by the builder during several phases of construction. Based on my observations,measurements, and review of the photographs I am able to certify the following: • The footings and foundation were constructed according to plan: anchor bolts were installed, strapping at each stud wraps under the sill, and copper termite shielding is in place. • Wall framing was constructed according to plan: 2 x 6 studs at 16" o.c., strapping in the gable walls connects the attic framing with the main story framing. • Ceiling platform was constructed substantially to plan:headers and joists are per plan. Instead of two layers of insulation, only one layer was installed under a plywood floor. This has little significance since the garage is not conditioned space. • The roof was constructed substantially to plan: ridges,rafters, and strapping are per plan. Collar ties were proposed at 32"o.c.; however, in the main gable they are variously 32" and 48"o.c. and are entirely missing in the cross-gable. Additional collar ties need to be installed. On the next page is an example of the photographic evidence I was supplied showing the strapping, sheathing and sill construction in the rear wall: 1 1 :t .��.
