D.D.S. 12 April 1972 County Planning Board Town of Southold Southold, NY Dear Sirs, I wish to go on record protesting the request of Mr Martin Sidor to change his property in the area of Legion Ave. in Mattituck from a rating of A to B. I feel that if the change is made the area and its residents would suffer innumerable hardships which they need not tolerate. I trust you will investigate this serious matter with the closest scrutiny. Respectfully, Joh~n V. Sawicki,DDS ! ,.. / ( ?c -c (. L ~ March 11,1972 Southold Town Zoning Board Main Rd., Southold, N.Y., 11971 Gentlemen: In response to the feelings of many of the people who are neighbors to the People of Advent on Leg- ion Avenue, our Church Council has gone on record as officially and strongly opposing any efforts to change thb zoning of any property along the street from purely residential status. We oppose the changing of zoning for property on Legion Avenue next to the Long Island Rail Road owned by the Sidor Family. We feel the present structure is objectionable and wish the land to be used for residential purposes only. The changing of the zoning to enable the construc- tion of potatoe storage and sorting facilities would be to the detrement of the present quiet residen- tial nature of the area. Truck traffic would be backed up on the already narrow Legion Avenue. The intersection with Main Road, unprotected by a light, would become an increased hazzard. Nois~ and dirt would be shared by the residents and the People who worship at Advent. Youngsters, both in the area, and in our Church School and Nursery School, would be endangered. The quiet nature of the cem- etary on Legion Avenue would be ruined. cc.: Town Board Supervisor Yours truly, /' ~/ / Georg~Summers Pastor and President of the Church Council FOR THE CHURCH COUNCIL. Gentlemen: We are residents of Legion Ave., Mattituck and wish to go on record protesting the request of Martin Sidor to change his property rating from A to B. This is a residential area and must remain as such. A cemetery and church are also included in this area where peace and tranquility should prevail. Commercial trucks traveling through these streets are hazardous and endanger the lives of all in the area. We respectfully request your consideration of our protest. Thank you. It is the opinion of the Planning Board that this property is located too close to the cemetery, it is not well shaped for a business property, and it does not conform with the Town Master Plan. Y. 11971 PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS John Wlckham, Chairman Henry Molsa Alfred Grebe August 17, 1971 Southold Town Board 16 South Street Greenport, New York Gentlemen: This is to advise you that the following resolution was passed by the Southold Town Planning Board at a regular meeting held on August 16, 1971: In the matter of the original petition of Frank & Martin Sidor, Wickham Avenue and Peconic Bay Blvd., Mattituck, New York, relative to change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on certain property situated at north side of Legion Avenue, Mattituck, New York, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board recommend unfavorably to the Southold Town Board the change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on the above described property. It is the opinion of the Planning Board that this property is located too close to the cemetery, it is not well shaped for a business property, and it does not conform with the Town Master Plan. It is the feeling of the Planning Board that the present non-conforming use should be continued as is. Respectfully submitted, John Wickham, Chairman Southold Town Planning Board JW:BN OFFICERS etltatt emeterg ,m afimt TRUSTEES JOHN Dur~yl~z J. SZaNLZ~C ?~,R~tN Mas. Y. 11971 Re: Zoning Change Application Frank & Martin Sider Legion Avenue Dear John: At our annual meeting July 29th the trustees inspected the above captioned site. We assume that the property directly east of ours belongs to the Sidors and that Legion Avenue is south of their property. If this ts the caseiwe would llke you to consider a buffer zone of twenty feet from our property which could be in a roadway or something like it.
