Dear Mrs. Schmidt:
Reference is made to your application for a change of zone
~rom "A'~ Residential and Agricultural District to "M" Multiple
Residence District on certain real property situated at Sound
Avenue, Greenport, New York. It has not been the policy oi the
Planning Board to grant a change of zone unless the applicant has
a prospective customer or definite plans himself. From your appli-
cation we are unable to determine exactly what your plans are.
· n addition, the Board wishes to look at the property person-
ally. We ,~4ould also like to propose, from your point of view, that
it might be wise to talk with the adjoining property owners because
the cha~ge o~ zone will require a public hearing and it might be
well to find out how your ~eighbors feel about the proposed change
of zone ~efore the hearing.
The Planning Board will meet again on June 7th at which time
we shall be glad to hear from you about your plans and proposals
for the use of the property. Any plans, sketches or other data
you may sukanit or bring with you should you attend the meeting will
be most helpful to the Board.

2. I do hereby petition the Town Board of the Town of Southold to change, modify and amend
the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, including the
Building Zone Maps heretofore made a part thereof, as follows:

3. Such request is made for the following reasons:
It is my intention that the e:~tire pa. rcel of pro~,erty~ within the limits

~uis~nces. A m~tel~ hotel or apart~met~t house, ~ith i~s lighted conditzon at

utilization of ~he acreage for a motel site. it will not dist%'~rb tLe rosia~tial
