Dear Bill:
The board reviewed and discussed your proposal for an
accessory building (garage) to be located west of the most
westerly end of the existing dwelling.
it is the opinion of the board that the premises as a
whole (!3_421 acres) contains two frontyard areas since it
fronts along the east side of Village Lane a~d along the west
side of Tabor Road.
Therefore, locating the accessory garage in the location
mentioned above would require a variance since it is not rear
yard area.

The following action was taken by the Southold Town
Planning'Board, Friday, September 9, 1983.
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board approve
a set-off (106-13) as designated on the map of William and
Richard Gillooly, dated September 1, 1983, located at Orient,
with a condition that covenants and restrictions be filed
stating no further subdivision will be made on the one-acre
business property in the future.
Please forward two (2) copies of the above mentioned
map and a copy of the covenants and restrictions to our
office. Thank you.

Dear Mr. 6oehringer,
I would like permission to appear before your Board on ApriI 11 in order
to have the Bqard determine the location of the rear yard of my home in Orient.
I am seeking this determination under your powers as outlined in the Southold
Town Code.
The Office of the Building Inspector has indicated that I have two front
yards and they are reluctant to issue a permit for the construction of a garage
without your determination.
I have enclosed a copy of my survey and would like you to note the follow-
ing:
1. The original permit issued to construct my home shows the front facade
facing North.
2. The permit issued to construct my pooI shows the pool to the South
of the house in the "rear yard" as required by code.
3. The Southold Planning Board has given Sketch Plan Approval to a road
that will establish the North facade as the front of my house.
I am sure that I will be able to further suppIy information to you vocaIly
at the meeting.
