§220. Subd. 8
(a) The head of a state or municipal department, board, commission or office authorized or required by law to issue any
permit for or in connection with any work involving the employment of employees in employment as defined in this article,
and not withstanding any general or special statute requiring or authorizing the issue of such permits, shall not issue such
permit unless proof duly subscribed by an insurance carrier is produced in a form satisfactory to the chair, that the
payment of disability benefits and after January first,two thousand and twenty-one,the payment of family leave benefits
for all employees has been secured as provided by this article. Nothing herein, however, shall be construed as creating
any liability on the part of such state or municipal department, board, commission or office to pay any disability benefits to
any such employee if so employed.

To whom it may concern,
Solar panels,installation is being proposed at the above-mentioned address. I am retained
by Kamtech Solar to verify that the existing building structure, after the addition of the
solar panels, is still adequate to sustain the effects of the wind load as well as all other
loads for which the buildings are designed for.
The pitch of the existing main flat roofs is about 15 degrees with 2x10 rafters at 1.6" on
center. The longest existing rafter span is.about 21'.
REC REC460AA PURE-RX (460W) Modules are to be installed. Each solar panel has
dimensions of about 68"x 47.4" xl.6" and weighs approximately 50 lb. each. The
supporting racking system is Solar Mount by UniRac located at 1411 Broadway
Boulevard NE Albuquerque NM 87102.
After the field survey and the examination of the catalogues of both the panel
manufacturer and supporting racking manufacturer, I.hereby certify that the small
increase in load on the roof and its supporting structure due to the installation of the solar
panels is acceptable. The existing building structure is adequate to sustain the effects of
the wind load as well as all other loads for which-the buildings are designed for with the
installation of the solar panels provided the following are met:
1. Each module will be securely fastened ai a,minimum of 4 points (7mm x
11.5mm) using Solar Mount by UniRac. That is at least two points along each long
side of the panel. It is important that the clip'centerlines are between 1/4 and 3/4
from the end of the module.
2. All fasteners shall be stainless steel or galvanized steel and other components of
the racking system shall be made of galvanized or stainless steel or aluminum;
3. Follow manufacture mounting instruction strictly.
4. Stainless lag bolts shall be used,to fasten the racking,system-to the roof rafters
and they need to be minimum 5/16". shaft and 3 1/2" long.
5. Lag bolts spacing shall be no more than 64" O.C. along the direction of the
racking system. Lag bolts should be installed staggered, that is the lag bolts at
every other rail should be staggered by 24" so they are fastened into alternating
rafters.
6. Thread must be embedded in the side grain of a rafter.
7. Lag bolts must be in the middle third of the structural member.
8. Install lag bolts with head and washer flush to surface. Do not over-torque.
9. Proper waterproofing and proper sealant shall be_applied at every penetration.
Roof structure is reviewed for adequacy and code compliance as.per.the requirement of
2020 Residential Code adapted by New York State and the provision of ASCE 7-16. The
following design load criteria were used: Ground,Snow Load: 20 psf; Wind Speed: 130
mph; Exposure:..B; Important factor: 1.
This architect is responsible for certifying that'the proposed structure is sufficient for
resisting wind uplift and down force load only. Any other aspect of the project including
but not limited to component defects,'leakage; system malfunction, system performance,
etc. are not the responsibility of the undersigned.
