Gentlemen;
This is to advise you that the following action was taken
by the Southold Town Planning Board at a regular meeting held
on August 10, 1970:
In the matter of the original petition of Jack Driscoll,
North Oakwood Drive, Laurel, New York and Rene Gendron, Golden
Lane, South Jamesport, New York, relative to a change of zone
from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business
District on certain property located at west side of Factory
Avenue, Mattituck, New York.
It was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board
does not recommend to the Southold Town Board the change of
zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B"
Business District on the above described property.
It is the opinion of the Southold Town Planning Board that
the proposed density per acre is too high.
Respectfully submitted,
John Wickham, Chairman
Southold Town Planning Board

Re: Engineering Services
Dear Mr. D~iscoll:
In accordance with your request, we have rewiewed
the feasibility of providing a package type secondary
sewage treatment facility for your proposed 80-unit senior
citizens housing pr~ect in Mattitucko
The preliminary estimated cost of this treatment
facility would be as follows for an extended aeration type
plant with aerated sludge holding and subsurface ~aching
of effluent:
Equipment delivered to site $30,000.
Excavation, installation and
connections 12,000.
Leachingpools and piping 8,000.
Engineering - Plans & Specifications 5.000.
TOTAL . . o · . o . o · · · · · · · · · $55,000.
The housing requirement would approximate 2,000
square feet.
Supervision of the operation of the plant would be
required by a licensed sewage treatment plant operator. We
would expect that suitable arranKements could be made with a
nearby plant operation (Riverbead or Greenport) to provide the
supervision of your resident superintendent until such time as
he could attend the operator's school and obtain his license,
Thank you for the opportunity of presentin~ this proposal,
Very tr~y yours,
HOL23fACHER, McLENDON&
