This is to confirm telephone conversation
had with Mr. Howard Terry on August 25th that the
above application is to be withdrawn.
It was my impression that the matter was
withdrawn at the time of the discussion had in the
matter but I failed to make the necessary formal
statement of withdrawal for the record which I hereby
now make.

Gentlemen:
This is to certify that the following action was taken by the
Southold Town Planning Board at a regular meeting held on August 10,
1965:
In the matter of the petition of Clayton H. Clarke and Rose M.
Clarke, Peconic, New York, relative to change of zone from "A" Resi-
dential and Agricultural District to 'B-2" Business District on cer-
tain property situated in Peconic, N. Y. and more particularly bounded
and described as follows:
Beginning at a monument on the northerly line of North Road marking
the division of land of Clayton H. and Rose M. Clarke, and the County
of Suffolk;
Running thence north 45° 37' 00" W. along said division line a
distance of 200 feet;
Running thence through land of Clayton H. Clarke and Rose Mo
Clarke south 59° 27' 30" W. a distance of 445.35 feet more or less to
land now or formerly of Laura and Kenneth Case;
Running thence along said last mentioned land south 47° 10' 00" E.
a distance of 100 feet more or less to land now or formerly of Belinski~
Running thence along said last mentioned land two courses as
follows: 1. ~orth ~51~ 58' ~0" ~. a distance of 16.20 feet. 2. South
~:0~ 03' 00" E. a distance of 100 feet to a monument on the said
northerly line of North Road;
Running thence along the said northerly line of the North Road
north 59° 27' 30" E. a distance of 445.35 feet to the monument at the
point of beginning.

It is hereby RESOLVED that the Planning Board not recommend the
change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District-3£o "B-2"
Business District on the property of Clayton H. and Rose M. Clarke as
described above.

Change of zone
Dear Mr. Edeon:
Please be advised that the Southold To~n Pl&nning Board has
been unwilling to favorably recommend any changes of zone to
a business district when the property involved is i~ excess of
eight to ten acres.
Also please be advised that the Planning Board has held up
recoa~aendation on the above mentioned change of zone, tn view of
the fact that we are awaiting the results of a study being ma~e
by the County Planning Commission. The County is interested
making the County Route 27 (North Road) a road with 1/mired access
onto the highway a~d with bus,ness aistricts at substantial

amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York,
including the Building Zone Maps heretofore made a part thereof, as follows:
To rezone above described area from A Residental to Business B-2
3. Suchrequestis madeforthefollowingreasons: The petitioners' property herein
is bounded on the east by a re-charge basin of the County of Suffolk. On the
northerly boundary of petitioners' property are properties of Petrucci and
of L.I.P. Co. and the Long Island Lighting Company high-line easement, all
of which constitute industrial usages. On the opposite side of the North
Road from the property of your petitioners there is being conducted a
business which consists of awning and boat cover manufacturing. Mr. Charles
Hubbard's various activities are also conducted on property adjoining that
of the awning manufacturer. In view of these neighboring uses your petitioners
do not feel it unreasonable to ask for the rezoning of the above described
parcel in order that they may operate an antique shop within the described
parcel. Your petitioners are anxious to render good service to the people
of the Town of Southold believing that the Town would be benefited thereby
and that the land-use requested would not be objectionable in any way and
would be consistent with the other existing uses in the neighborhood.
