HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-06/22/2004LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes of Regular Meeting held Tuesday, June 22, 2004 Members Present: Members Absent: Also present: Ray Blum, Chairman Craig Arm Ray Huntington John Sepenoski Eric Keil Fred Lee Michelle Zaloom Bill Edwards (liaison to Town Board) Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator Melanie Doroski, Secretary to LPC Tim Caufield, Vice President of Peconic Land Trust Commencement: The meeting began at 7:08 p.m. (Note: Scheduled June 8, 2004 meeting had been canceled) MOTION was made by Ray Huntington, seconded by Craig Arm, to accept minutes of May 11, 2004 and May 25, 2004 meetings. Motion carried 6/0. Applications: · MOFFAT (Carroll) PROPERTY- south SCTM #: Location: Total Acreage: PDR Acreage: Zoned: CPF: 1000-55-3-6.1 50100 CR 48, Southold (s/s CR 48 near Yennecott +36.34 acres undetermined PDR R-80 Yes Updates concerning Suffolk County Dept. of Public Works meeting with Peconic Land Trust and Valerie Scopaz, Town Planner. Tim Caulfield informed members of the County DPW's plans to change road configuration and to construct drainage ditch within part of Moffat property. This is a long-term plan and there is time to suggest alternatives. Valerie Scopaz is preparing a draft letter for Supervisor's review and signature to send to County in regard to proposal. For consideration - open space acquisition of farmland. Wait for further correspondence from Moffat's. LITTLE BEAR REALTY, INC. PDR is part of a conservation subdivision. MOTION was made by John Sepenoski, seconded by Eric Keil, to direct Melissa Spire to commission an appraisal on the property for a PDR. Motion carried 6/0 SHALVEY PROPERTY SCTM #: Location: Total Acreage: PDR Acreage: Zoned: CPF: 1000-84-2-2.1 5200 Bridge La, Cutchogue (n/e corner of Bridge & CR 48) +19.945 acres +15 acres A-C Yes Reviewed new application. Owners requesting too many lots to proceed during current moratorium. Members directed Melissa Spire to explain lot situation to owners and if they desire to proceed further, to come back to LPC for vote on appraisal. PIPIA PROPERTY (contract vendee to Bidwell Family) SCTM #: 1000-96-4-4.3 Location: 18910 CR 48, Cutchogue Total Acreage: +15 acres PDR Acreage: +12 acres Zoned: A-C CPF: Yes Reviewed new application brought to LPC by Peconic Land Trust. Contract vendee is requesting a 3-acre reserved area around existing buildings and to sell the development rights on the remaining acreage. MOTION was made by Ray Blum, seconded by Eric Keil, to direct Melissa Spiro to commission an appraisal on the property. Motion carried 6/0. BITTNER PROPERTY SCTM #: Location: Total Acreage: Zoned: CPF: 1000-68-1-17.2 4305 Soundview Avenue, Peconic + 8.70 acres (open space) R-80 Yes SCTM #: Location: Total Acreage: Zoned: CPF: 1000-68-1-17.3 4305 Soundview Avenue, Peconic + 25.70 acres (open space) R-80 Yes SCTM #: Location: Total Acreage: Zoned: CPF: 1000-58-1 - 1 5415 Soundview Avenue, Peconic + 23.48 acres (open space) R-80 Yes Reviewed new application. This property has always been on Town's priority lists. This property is may be on list for federal funding and funding may also be available from the State for waterfront parcels. MOTION was made by Eric Keil, seconded by John Sepenoski, to direct Melissa Spiro to commission an appraisal on these properties. Motion carried 6/0. The members entered into EXECUTIVE SESSION. S.
