CLIMATE SMART COMMUNITIES Sarah Oral, IMEG Consultant for the NYSDEC CSC Program and Andrew Manitt, Molloy College attended the meeting via Zoom as the guest speakers.. A contract is in the works, which will allow fora community wide inventory for technical assistance for all towns. For now, Andrew has the tools to reduce emissions for the town and can assist with how to achieve points for the low-hanging fruit. Carol Brown wanted to move forward with the baseline data. Sarah will provide us with a copy of the vulnerability assessment, which can also be found on their website. She also suggested the CAC members look at East Hampton's website as they are almost Silver Certified. Carol invited Andrew to future meetings to assist the CAC in getting certified. Some examples of achievable actions are solar at the animal.shelter, the re-use center and the landfill, the food scraps program, which would only require the submission of the flyer, and solar street lighting in Cutchogue. The solar project at.the landfill, would be located on land owned by the town and leased to the solar company.
