HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-02/11/2025 LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes & Discussion Notes from Meeting held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. This Regular Meeting was held in the Annex Executive Board Room, located on the 2nd floor at Southold Town Hall Annex, 54375 Route 25(Main Road), Southold, New York. The public had access to view and listen to the meeting as it was happening via Zoom. If an attendee did not have access to a computer or smartphone, there was an option to listen in via telephone. Comments from the public may not be solicited nor received without an appointment. It is expected that the Committee will enter into Executive Session*at some point after opening the Regular Meeting for the purpose of discussing applications regarding proposed acquisitions of real property where publicity would substantially affect the value thereof. The public is not allowed to attend, view, or listen to Executive Session. Committee Minutes and Administration • Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from August 6, 2024 Tabled until a quorum of Committee members eligible to approve these minutes is achieved. • Acceptance of LPC meeting minutes from January 28, 2025 MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Sam McCullough, to accept the January 28, 2025 LPC meeting minutes as amended. Motion carried: 4/0 • Next LPC Meeting Date: March 11, 2025 General Preservation • None Inquiries/Applications for Uses or Structures on Preserved Property • Peconic Land Trust(f/k/a Gatz) SCTM# 1000-95.4-14.3— Property Subject to Town PDR Request to Install Deer Fencing The Committee reviewed the request to install and 8-foot deer fence and gate. The Committee the determined the request is not in conflict with the terms of the applicable easement. MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Sam McCullough, to find that the proposed installation of 8-foot deer fencing and a 20-foot-wide gate as depicted on a survey map dated October 10, 2023 is consistent with the applicable development rights easement. Motion carried: 4/0 Stewardship and Management 0 None Land Preservation Applications & Potential Applications: • EXECUTIVE SESSION- Legal Advice Regarding Stewardship and Management Proposed Acquisitions of Real Property Where Publicity Would Substantially Affect the Value Thereof MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Anne Murray, to enter into EXECUTIVE SESSION. Motion carried: 4/0 The LPC members entered into EXECUTIVE SESSION at 7:12 p.m. Meeting locked. o Lillian McCullough, Land Preservation Executive Assistant— Inquiries, new applications, appraisals and current applications o Holly Sanford, Peconic Land Trust- Inquiries, new applications, appraisals and current applications MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Doris McGreevy, to exit Executive Session. Motion carried: 4/0 EXECUTIVE SESSION ENDED at 8:58 p.m. Land Preservation Applications & Potential Applications -OPEN SESSION • MOTION made by Eric Keil, seconded by Anne Murray, to recommend that the Town Board commission an appraisal for Application 2024-5 for the purposes of providing the market value of a conservation easement on the property as discussed while in Executive Session.
