To Town of Southold:
I hereby affirm that, following a comprehensive professional evaluation, the plans for the
installation of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) complies with the 2020 Residential
Code of New York State, the 2020 Building Code of New York State, the 2020 Fire Code of New
York State, the 2017 National Electric Code, ASCE 7-16, and other relevant industry standards
and regulations. This certification is provided in strict adherence to the governing regulations
and standards applicable to such installations.
The locations and connections detailed in the submitted plans have undergone thorough
scrutiny and are confirmed to align with the requisite codes and standards. The proposed
BESS, utilizing Lithium Iron Phosphate technology, adheres to UL9540A standards, ensuring it
does not exhibit thermal runaway.
In my professional opinion, derived from the site inspection and detailed analysis, the proposed
BESS and the accompanying enclosure system demonstrate structural adequacy to withstand
the reactions associated with the BESS.
