1. Minutes
2. North Road #48 to #25 - speed limit discussion
3. Follow up on NYSDOT issues:
1. Flooding issues on #25 especially Port of Egypt.
2. Can NYSDOT maintain the drainage pipes under #25 between Orient Broad Meadow
and the wetland to the north. The Town has cleaned out the pipes under #25 at Port of
Egypt.
3. Crosswalk issues: Each hamlet has pedestrian crossing problems and issues with bike
safety. What can the State provide or do to make these safer? Moveable Yield-to-
Pedestrian signs? Lights? Other? See pdf.
4. What options would NYSDOT consider to improve our bicycle and pedestrian
Infrastructure: Would NYSDOT consider a test of flexible delineators protecting the
shoulder between Southold and Greenport? Could flexible delineators be installed on
the shoulder stripe at crosswalks to prevent vehicles passing on the right of cars
stopped for pedestrians?
5. The 4-way signal at CVS in Mattituck has an eastbound blind-spot with a rise in the
road also. It would be useful to have a Signal Ahead sign. [Driving in google it did not
look like it was blocked by a hill.-Randy]
6. Citizens submitted a petition requesting sidewalks east of Mattituck HS to Moores Lane,
Cutchogue. There is a sidewalk connecting Moores Lane to Peconic. Can we assist
NYSDOT in a Safe Streets for All grant application?
7. We also need sidewalks on #48 County Road from Chapel Lane to Moores Lane as we
have workers and students in a new housing complex walking on the shoulder to a
nursing home and the Greenport School, tourists in hotels and a campground walking
and cycling to the Village. Can NYSDOT collaborate in a Safe Streets for All grant
application?
8. As our Main Road #25 cuts through each hamlet, we have pedestrian crossing issues.
We request a field visit to explore safety improvements that will additionally support
economic vitality, quality of life and increased alternative modes of travel.
4. Parking and Noise Ticket updates: New Suffolk, Greenport, Love Lane/Park, others. Non-
Yielding at Love La/Pike crosswalk, others?
