These Certificates are for a new space heating system installed in,2003 as referenced by Harold Cook of Fisher's Island. We had spoken briefly about-this situation a few weeks ago and had decided that providing the Certificates would be the first step in bringing the work into compliance. I am assuming that the Rescheck Version 3.6 Release 2 is the correct application for this work. I have included two Certificates, one,not in compliance, showing the house as it-exists with very little insulation and a second Certificate, showing the necessary insulation to gain compliance. These insulation values would be very difficult to achieve in this existing structure with the only possibility being the use of closed cell spray foam insulation. Are there any exceptions to having to meet these standards based upon the existing limitations of the building and, if not, could a Code Modification be a possible remedy (we are able.to apply for these in CT,but not sure that you:have a similar vehicle in NY)? Should the only resolution be to insulate the structure, I would recommend the use,of closed cell, expanding spray foam in all open and closed cavities of the exterior walls, floors and ceilings of the house.
