This permit must be conspicuously posted at the site where the toxic/hazardous materials are located. Failure to post the permit may result in delivery operator refusing to make a delivery of toxic/hazardous materials, including fuel oil. The Permit to Operate does not imply that all storage is in compliance with all applicable codes. The owner and operator of the site are responsible for ensuring that all storage is in compliance. Access to the site shall be granted to representatives of the SCDHS for compliance inspections during normal business hours. Violations of the Suffolk County Sanitary Code are punishable by fines of up to $2,000 per day, per violation. Violations of the New York State Petroleum Bulk Storage Code are punishable by fines of up to $37,500 per day, per violation.
