"May we bring to your attention that the congregation of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greenport owns property on the northerly side of Route ~25 between Pell's Garage and the Skyway open air theatre. "A building program was begun in July 1961 and a successful fund raising campaign is now in progress. Plans have been approved by the American Board of Missions, bids are being let out, and building of the new church will begin this summer. "We are sure you will concur with us that any commercial amusement center operating seven days and nights is less than desirable. "May we ask your cooperation in preventing any zoning changes in the area of the new church which will prove detrimental. "We would also appreciate your keeping us informed on the decisions contemplated by the Planning Board; and may we remind you that our church membership consists of voters and property owners of the Greenport-Southold areas.
