"Gentlemen: This is to certify that the following action
was taken by the Southold Town Planning Board on May 9, 1962:
"In the matter of the proposal of the Southold Town Board on
its own motion to change from "A" Residential and Agricultural
District to "B" Business District the following property on the
south side of Route 25, Arshamomaque: Beginning at the inter-
section of the southerly line of Main Road with the westerly line
of Silvermere Road and running thence southeasterly along Silver-

thence in a general southwesterly direction along land of Lc~g
Island Railroad Company about 5200 feet to Kerwin Boulevard;
thence northwesterly along Kerwin Boulevard to the southeasterly
line of said Main Road; thence in a general northeasterly direction
along said Main Road about 5900 feet to the point of beginning.
Exceptin~ two existing "B" zone areas within the above described
boundaries; it is hereby
"RESOLVED that the Planning Board recommends to the Town Board
this change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "B" Business District in Arshamomaque.
"The entire north side of Route 25 in this area is zoned "B"
Business and the Planning Board feels it is good planning to zone
the property on the south side of the road "B" to conform. Also,
there are several non-conforming businesses now in existence on
the south side of the road and it is believed there will be appli-
cations made in the near future for rezoning to "B" by some of the
property owners.

"We understand that property on Route ~25 between Southold

Planning Board of Southold.
"May we bring to your attention that the congregation of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greenport owns property on the
northerly side of Route ~25 between Pell's Garage and the Skyway
open air theatre.
"A building program was begun in July 1961 and a successful
fund raising campaign is now in progress. Plans have been approved
by the American Board of Missions, bids are being let out, and
building of the new church will begin this summer.
"We are sure you will concur with us that any commercial
amusement center operating seven days and nights is less than desirable.
"May we ask your cooperation in preventing any zoning changes
in the area of the new church which will prove detrimental.
"We would also appreciate your keeping us informed on the
decisions contemplated by the Planning Board; and may we remind
you that our church membership consists of voters and property
owners of the Greenport-Southold areas.

Southold town Planning Board
$outhold, New York
Dear Mr. Wickham-
We are in receipt of your letter of March 8, 1962 relative
to zoning frOm "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B"
Business District certain property on the south side of Route 25
at Arshomomaque.
We have discussed your proposal at great length and it was
the concensus of opinion of the Town Board that since this change
will be on our own motion, the following area m lght be considered:
From the preSent "B" Business District which ends on the easterly
side of Sl lvermere Road, continuing westerly to the southerly side
of Kerwln Boulevard. The property east of $I lve'rmere Road to the
Fleet property, and north of Kerwln Boulevard to the railroad over-
pass Is presently zoned "B". We propose the depth of this Business
D|strict to be from Route 25 to the rallroad property.
May we have your report and recommendation on this proposal.
Very uly yours,
L~e Albertson
