Activities of the Board/Accomplishments: Completion of 2024 Required Annual Training Pursuant to Town Board Resolution 2024-864, ZBA Members Acampora, Dantes, Lehnert, Planamento and Weisman have completed the four hours of Town Board approved training for 2024 as follows: November 21, 2024 Battery Energy Storage Systems Update and Review of Municipal Moratoriums Presented by Touro Law Center's Land Use Institute November 21,2024 Writing ZBA Decisions Presented by ATA Julie McGivney. A review of the State Statutes and Balancing Test that must be addressed in rendering decisions by Boards of Appeal,the findings in the public record and the relevant provisions of the Town Code that form the basis for a rational decision, and how to differentiate between prior ZBA precedent and current applications before the Board. December 5, 2024 Storm Water Regulations Presented by Town Engineer Michael Collins Understanding storm water regulations and their relationship to applications before the Zoning Board of Appeals and other regulatory agencies such as the Planning Board,Town Trustees, Suffolk County Soil and Water, and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).
