As far as the front porch and steps,you should bring the architect out there sooner than later to see if he can come up with a solution for you. As currently constructed, it's not meeting code requirements for landings and steps.. and because it is the main front door, it needs to be addressed. The drawings do not show the step at the top of the porch into the house;they also indicate the steps to grade as being as wide as the vestibule. There is not a walkway indicated on drawings anywhere,which wouldn't even matter because we don't require it of an applicant, it is just a landscape feature and not something we have jurisdiction over. If the architect has a solution which does not involve reconstructing the landing and steps, he is welcome to review it with me prior to any construction alterations taking place.
