Building Permit Application — Southold Town
Recover Existing Wood Deck & Replace Railings & Single Platform Step
Existing Deck: 49 2n feet, 16 inches above grade, 5/4 x 4 inch wood boards, wood
horizontal railings; and with one platform step up from a paver patio.
Project- Recover existing deck, replace railings, replace single platform step:
1. Strip decking and replace decking with TimberTech (by Azek)Composite decking,
5/4 x 6 inch deck boards. Decking will be fastened with concealed Concealoc
fasteners and the deck perimeter fascia will be trimmed with TimberTech composite
trim boards.
2. Replace railings using existing 4 x 4 inch posts with a 36 inch high TimberTech
Radiance Rail composite railing system with post sleeves covering the existing
posts. Trim out with TimberTech caps.
3. Replace the single platform step with a pressure treated lumber platform trimmed
out with TimberTech decking and fascia to match the new decking. Install a short
TimberTech handrail section on each end of the step and connect it to the deck
railing system.
