NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 267 of the Town Law and Town Code
Chapter 280 (Zoning), Town of Southold,the following public hearing will be held by the
SOUTHOLD TOWN ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS at the Town Hall, 53095 Main Road,
Southold, New York 11971-0959, on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2024:
The public may ALSO have access to view, listen and make comment during the PUBLIC
HEARING as it is happening via ZOOM WEBINAR. There will be a link to the Zoom Webinar
-meeting at http://southoldtownny.gov/calendar.aspx.
10:00 A.M.- CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER #7962—Request for a Variance from Article X,
Section 280-46 and the Building Inspector's May 31, 2024 Notice of Disapproval based on
an application for a permit to construct an addition to an existing religious building/house
of worship;at; 1) less than the code required minimum side yard setback of 10 feet; located
at: 13225 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, NY. SCTM No. 1000-141-4-27.
The Board of Appeals will hear all persons or their representatives,desiringto be heard at each hearing
and/or desiring to submit written statements before the conclusion of each hearing. Each hearing will

Dear Neighbor,
This letter is to inform you about the upcoming Zoning Board of Appeals hearing regarding a
yard setback variance for the proposed extension at the Church of the Redeemer located at
1325.Sound.Avenue,Mattituck. The variance.is for.a7'.side yard setback_of_the.extension
whereas the required side yard setback is 10'.
The hearing will be on Thursday,December 5a`at loam, Southold Town Hall, 53095 Main
Road, Southold. It will be in person as well as via Zoom. Please see the Legal Notice
included in this mailing which shows a link to access the Zoom Webinar meeting.
Our proposed extension at the church will be approximately 405 sq ft on the west side of the
church. Please see the attached site plan which shows the location of the extension on a
survey. The extension will provide extra space for many church activities such as coffee
hour,vestry meetings,Bible study, and choir rehearsal. The extension will have gothic
windows and a stucco exterior to match the current church architecture, and will enhance the
look of the church,blending beautifully with the current church and the neighborhood.
