The approved documents call for existing ceiling cavities exposed during construction to be filled with
insulation.This is in conformance R503.1.1 —i.e.existing ceiling and wall cavities exposed during
construction must be filled with insulation,though the values for new construction need not be met if energy
use of the structure is not increased. R30 is installed at the exposed ceiling cavity.
Caulking installation was being installed,and performed in conformance with applicable portions of NYS
Building Code.
The new window exceeds NYS energy code for U-value(0.30) and SHGC (0.31).
