The existing concrete floor slab remains in place at the south end. April, 2024 In the June 13, 2023 Permit Set, the porch floor framing joists span east/west, perpendicular to the building. Per the Architect's request, GNCB issued October 27, 2023 revised proposed drawings to turn the framing direction 90 degrees to that shown on the June 13, 2023 Permit Set. Accordingly, the deck floor joists span parallel with the building. The floor joists are supported, flush framed, by preservative treated PSL parallel strand lumber (PSL) beams that frame perpendicular to the building. On November 2, 2023, per the Architect's request, GNCB revised the framing at the northwest corner of the porch, to miter the framing. This revision was to match the renovated porch floor to the existing at the north end of the building. In the renovation schemes, the porch floor live load capacity was designed to support 100 pounds per square foot (100 psf). In December, 2023, the porch eave beams and roof framing were elevated to take better advantage of the scenic view from the porch overlooking the water. On January 12, 2024, Roxanne L. Brown, GNCB, was on site with H.P.B. The site visit was to observe the progress of construction for the structural work. The concrete basement foundation walls at the south end were constructed. At the north end, the porch floor framing is supported on concrete piers. The joists span north/south and are supported on PSL beams with hanger hardware. The porch framing is elevated above crushed stone in the underfloor crawl space. The roof framing at the north end had not been constructed.
