A Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in relation to an Amendment to Chapter 75,Alarm Systems"
Be it enacted the Town Board of the:

I. Purpose.
The purpose of this Local Law is to update Chapter 75 to allow fees to be set from time to time by Town
Board resolution and definition of area covered by this chapter
II. Amendment- The Southold Town Code is hereby amended by removing the struck through words and
adding the underlined words as follows:
§ 75-2. Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
FIRE DEPARTMENTS - Buildings owned by the fire districts of Fishers Island, Orient, East Marion,
Greenport, Southold, Cutchogue, Mattituck.
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD - All areas in the jurisdiction of the Southold Town Police Department, including the
incorporated Village of Greenport and Fishers Island.
§ 75-4. Fees. To be set by Town Board Resolution
B. Fire Departments shall be exempt from all fees
(If additional space is needed,attach pages the same size as this sheet,and number each.)

§ 75-6. Charges for false alarms; rules and regulations.
A. Any owner or lessee of property having a fire or police alarm device or system of fire or J
police alarm devices on his or its premises, with the exception of all Fire Departments, on
the effective date of this chapter shall pay to the Town a charge for each and every false
emergency alarm to which the Fire or Police Department responds, in each calendar year.
False Alarm fees to be set by Town Board resolution.
B. All charges shall be paid to the Town Clerk. Failure to pay any such charges shall subject such
owner, lessee or user to the penalty provisions of this chapter.
Penalties for offenses.
Any person, firm or corporation who or which does not pay any charge or fee established in this chapter or
who or which violates any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a fine to be set by Town Board
resolution for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during which a
violation occurs or is committed, and such violation may constitute disorderly conduct, in which event such
person shall be a disorderly person.
III. SEVERABILITY
If any clause, sentence,paragraph, section, or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the judgment shall not affect the validity of this law as a whole or any part
thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
IV. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided by law.

B. The above All charges shall be paid to the Town Clerk. Failure to pay any such charges
shall subject such owner, lessee or user to the penalty provisions of this chapter.
Penalties for offenses.
Any person, firm or corporation who or which does not pay any charge or fee established in this
chapter or who or which violates any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a fine net it}
emeess of Q250 to be set by Town Board resolution for each offense. A separate offense shall
be deemed committed upon each day during which a violation occurs or is committed, and such
violation may constitute disorderly conduct, in which event such person shall be a disorderly
person.
III. SEVERABILITY
If any clause, sentence,paragraph, section, or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,the judgment shall not affect the validity of this law
as a whole or any part thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
IV. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided
by law.

The purpose of this Local Law is to update Chapter 75 to allow fees to be set from time to time

H. Amendment- The Southold Town Code is hereby amended by removing the
struck through words and adding the underlined words as follows:
§ 75-2. Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter,the following definitions shall apply:
FIRE DEPARTMENTS - Buildings owned by the fire districts of Fishers Island, Orient, East
Marion, Greenport, Southold, Cutchogue, Mattituck.
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD - All of the Town f Southold, exeluding Fishers island. All areas in
the Jurisdiction of the Southold Town Police Department, including the incorporated Village
of Greenport and Fishers Island.
§ 75-4. Fees. To be set by Town Board Resolution

emergency alarm to which the Fire or Police Department responds, in each calendar year.
