The Trustee determined that you may remove the five (5) trees at this time. The Trustee also noted that you have pipes draining into the wetlands. This is illegal under Chapter 236 of the Southold Town Code Stormwater Management. These drain pipes need to be removed. This is not a determination from any other agency. Upon inspection I have determined 6 trees should be removed due to structu ra I-flaws and or decay.Conchs,the fruiting part of decay-fungi,are present on the oak closest to the catwalk as well as one south of the home.The other three oaks have holes and decay that can be seen clearly from a ground inspection.The 6th tree is a small locust tree with the entire top being dead.These 6 trees are a hazard to the home and or any persons in the near vicinity. Lastly, there are many large dead branches around the home and driveway. I recommend"risk reduction pruning';the removal of linch.diameter and larger dead,diseased and broken limbs as a way to minimize risk to the structure and,or person using the property.,If there are any questions about this assessment 1 can be reached at 631298-2175,and can meet on,site if need be by appointment. The Trustee determined that three of the five trees seemed healthy. He recommended that you get a determination in writing from a certified arborist regarding the five trees and submit a copy to this office. At this time, you are not permitted to remove any of the five trees. The Trustee also noted that you have pipes draining into the wetlands.
