Minutes 2. Follow up pedestrian crossings: 1. Meeting with NYSDOT to visit Southold pedestrian crossings, marked and unmarked as well as other hamlet crossings. 2. Purchase of crosswalk moveable signs. Attorney about liability for store owners assisting? 3. No bikes on sidewalks signs for Southold 3. Bicycle Infrastructure Ideas: George Theo 4. Lower speed limit request #25 western approach to Greenport by Robert Mills II, William Mills III, Robert Mills III. 5. Speed limit plan: Dan 6. Crosswalks/Pedestrian Issues Mattituck to bring to NYSDOT. Mattituck Laurel Library's Shauna Scholl and Terry McShane, Mattituck Chamber of Commerce. 7. Traffic Data availability and trends: Mark Terry 8. Heather request: Delineating the parking spaces on Rt. 25 in Southold Hamlet center: People partially block Town Hall Annex driveway onto Main Rd to run into the General Store. What would it take to delineate the parking spaces and/or maybe have No Parking sign outside of those spaces (like near the IGA has)? Mary Bess said the Town may have a MOU giving the Town the right to mark parking lanes otherwise can be added to the field meeting with NYSDOT. Dan. 9. Parking and Noise Ticket updates: New Suffolk, Greenport, others. Non-Yielding at Love La/Pike crosswalk. Chief Grattan 10.Seaview Trails field work follow up: Request for 2:26PM train from Penn Station year-round on Fridays and Thursdays in the summer as the current trains are packed, the 7 hour gap between trains is inconvenient, we have increased second home owners and expansion of remote workers, "resulting in unacceptable traffic congestion on the North Fork." Anne will arrange a support letter from the Town Board and Mary Bess from the Village of Greenport. 11.Bike racks update 12.Update on our Budget request for next year: The Comptroller has our request for$20,000 to buy Bike racks and to Develop an Educational Safety Program. 13.October meeting Anne will invite Terry McShane of the Business community related to NYSDOT requests. Chief Grattan will report on enforcement at Pike-Love La. Crosswalk previous months. 14.Soundview's purchase of street lights at crosswalks. Discussion of the fact that PSEG must be given information from Tim in DPW to charge Soundview for the new lights—if they ever get installed. Anne will reach out to the Town Attorney and maybe Heather. 15.Placeholder - grants generally, especially beyond Greenport roundabout, trouble crossing NYSDOT's #25 in each hamlet, East Marion has a sidewalk on the north only not south side, would need at least a landing on the south. SDOT refused to lower the speed or add bike Sharrow roadbed markings. How can we get grant money for more than just the sidewalks next to roadwork. 16.Letter to Town Board in support of PD enforcement: Anne and Mary Bess. 17. Education: Charlie will talk to NF Civics about hosting a bike rodeo for their monthly meetings, maybe CAST would host, schools, libraries, bikes for adults too. 18.The 4-way signal at CVS in Mattituck has an eastbound blind-spot with a rise in the road also. It would be useful to have a Signal Ahead sign. Dan or letter to SDOT? 19.Jim mentioned that when state mows the roadside, they have often not picked up garbage first and it becomes time pieces of plastic trash.
