This deck is in compliance with pre 2003 New York State Building Codes. For this deck to comply with current building codes additional metal strapping would be required to be installed. Because the deck is built ciose to the ground to install the straps would require that all the decking be removed. I would hope that The Building Department accepts this deck as compliant at the time of construction. If you have any questions regarding this matter,please do not hesitate to call.
