Gillispi¢, Jr., Cha~rr~an Rob¢It Bergen Herbert Rosenberg Charles Gregonis, Jr. Serge Doyen, Jr. MINUTES SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD OF APPEALS March 7, 1961 A regular meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals was held 12230 P.M., Tuesday, March 7, 1961 at the Town Clerk Office, Main Road, Southold, New York. There were present: Messrs. Robert W. Gillispie, Jr., Chai~n, Robert Bergen, and Charles Grigonis, Jr. Absent: Messrs. Herbert Rosenberg, and Serge Doyen, Jr. On motion of Mr. Bergen, seconded by Mr. Grigonis, and carried, the Board set 7:30 P.M. (E.S.T.), Thursday, March 16, 1961, Town Clerk Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, a~ time and place for hearing upon application of William Rodman Pell, 214 Atlantic Avenue, Greenport, New York, for a special exception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article IV Section 400, Sub~ection 9, for pez~,ission to use premises as a public garage and automobile service station. Location of property: north side Route 25, West Greenport, bounded north by E. H. King, east by Eo H. King, south by Main Road, and west by E. H. King. Southold Town Board of Appeals -2- March 7, 1961 Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, and Mr. Grigonis. On motion of Mr. Grigonis, seconded by Mr. Bergen, and carried, the Board of Appeals set 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.), Thursday, March 16, 1961, Town Clerk Office, Main Road, Southold, NeW York, as time and place for hearing upon application of Suffolk Coop. G. L. F. Service, Inc., for a special exception in accord- ance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article IV, Section 408, for permission to erect (paint) sign on roof of Suffolk Coop. G.L.F. Service, Inc. building, south side Hum-~el Avenue, Southold, New York, bounded north by Hu-..t~el Avenue, east by L. I. Cauliflower Association, south by L. I. Railroad and west by Ruth C. Houston. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, and Mr. Grigonis. It was further RESOLVR~ that legal notice of hearings be published in the official newspaper on March 10, 1961. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, and Mr. Grigonis. Moved by Mr. Grigonis, seconded by Mr. Bergen, WHEREAS the Building Zone Ordinance has been amended as of February 17, 1961, I. By amending Article I, Section 100 by adding thereto a new paragraph, to be Paragraph 23B, to read as follows: 23B--TOURIST CAMP--Any lot, piece or parcel of ground where two or more tents, tent houses, camp cottages, house cars or house trailers used as living or sleeping quarters are or may be located, said camp being operated ~r or without coml~ensation. II. By amending Article IIIA, Section 350, by adding thereto a new paragraph, to be Paragraph 4A, to read as follows: 4A. Tourist camps, when approved as a special exception by the Board of Appeals as hereinafter provided. Southold Town Board of Appeals -3- March 7, 1961 and ~RAS Article VIII, Section 802, provides, among other things, that the Board of Appeals shall make rules for the filing of an application for a special exception, NOW THEREFOREBE IT RESOLVED that any application for a special exception under Article IIIA, Section 350, Paragraph 4A shall comply with the provisions of the existing SOUthold Town Ordinance providing for the regulation of Tourist Camps, House Trailer Camps, House Trailers or similar establishments, as well as Article VIII, Section 80lA, Subsection C, Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance. Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, and Mr. Grigonis. The minutes of the meeting of January 26, 1961, on motion of Mr. Gillispie, seconded by Mr. Grigonis, and carried, were approved as submitted. Vote of',the Board: Ayes:- Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Bergen, and Mr. Grigonis.' The next meeting of the Southold Town Board of Appeals will be held 7:30 P.M., Thursday, March 16, 1961 at the Town Clerk Office, Main Road, Southold, New York.
