The Board of Trustees reviewed your request to trim the undermined tree located on your property within 100' of the wetlands. The tree was reviewed and seen by Trustee Nicholas Krupski on August 23, 2024. The Board of Trustees determined that the undermined tree located in your yard may be trimmed or removed at this time. Should removal become necessary, the Board of Trustees would like you to consider planting a one-to-one replacement using native hardwood trees anywhere on your property to help mitigate the loss. No permit will be required in order to perform this work. Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office. This is not a determination from any other agency. If you have any questions, please call our office at (631) 765-1892. Pellegrini 4515 Stillwater Avenue Cutchogue, NY 11935 It has come to our attention that a tree on our property is in jeopardy of falling on our neighbor's property due to erosion on our bluff. I consulted with John Shipman of Shamrock Tree Co.(631-298-2175)and he confirmed that the tree is severely undermined and recommended that we contact you to request a "Permission to Trim a Tree"letter. I have attached photos, however it is difficult to assess the situation without actually being on-site. Our(very friendly)neighbors have asked us to mitigate the situation. We would like to trim the tree down to 4'-0"above grade, thus keeping it alive and preserving the existing root structure. Mr.Shipman has given us an estimate to do the work, but has requested the letter of permission from your office. Please contact me or Mr.Shipman if there are any questions or concerns regarding this matter, and thank you in advance. We would like to have the work completed before hurricane season starts up again(I hear there is a lull as of this week). Thanks again. Respectfully, Gregg Pellegrini 805-453-9690 ATTENTION:This email came from an external source. Do not open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails. 1
